I had a couple of lythotripsies to get rid of mine. One a sonic and one a laser. There are some body parts that should not be probed with a laser! At least both times I was out.

Glad you passed it. My younger son passed a 9mm size stone and took him 12 -14 hours with allot of drugs. The Dr didn't think it would pass and was getting ready to perform surgery. I couldn't think of a 9mm passing through me that would hurt very bad. Again glad everything passed ok.

And I thought I had health problems. But for my age I guess I have been lucky. 30 and you are passing stones, dam, glad everything came out OK. Bad pun I know but someone had to say it.

I had one the size of a large pea. It took lythotripsy to break it up so it could pass. It felt like someone was stabbing me every time it tried to move a bit further downstream.

I am 43 and have had stones two or three times in the past 8 years. I actually had one about a week ago while on vacation in Mexico. They gave me Tramadol(here in Canada) for the pain. I can tell you guys one thing... everytime I've had a stone was while I was on a drinking binge.

I don't drink alcohol anymore

I get kidney stones too. I have had them three times.

Eight years ago I started drinking a tea spoon of apple cider vinegar every other day. I have not had a stone since.

If your stones are calcium based like mine were, I highly recommend the apple cider vinegar.

I've had stones 3 times, the last time I had to get it blasted to pass. I last DR. told me drinking lemonade helps to keep them from forming.

I've heard that vinegar also helps control chronic heart burn.

They can be horrendous, or not even notice them. From what i hear everyone has them, but most are so small no one notices. I have had 3 so far that you could call 'noticeable' ( at least until the heavy drugs took effect ). A friend of mine makes them like no tomorrow. 2 or 3 times a year. surgically removed.

The first one is always the worst since you aren't 100% sure what it is..

I had one break free due to a fall. Rammed the corner of a laptop into my kidney ( tripped over a cat on the way out the door one morning ).. 2 hours later it 'started'. It was a general feeling of dread when it started " sigh.. not this "

I would think it should work on both. You could always catch your next one and dip it in vinegar to see if it works.

I had my first one last year, at age 54. I'd never felt pain like that before. I was at work, and told my boss I was leaving to go to the hospital. Drove myself there...I still don't know how I made it. They got me right in, and gave me some meds that took away all the pain, and made me sleep. Did an MRI, found out it was small enough for me to pass, and sent me home with pain pills and a strainer. I found it later that afternoon. I had no idea something SO small could cause SO much pain! I wouldn't wish that pain on anyone...

Wow, I must be lucky. I have passed two in as many years. Both just came out when relieving myself.

The first was at home. I actually fished it out of the toilet. I was like, hey, what the hell just came out of me. Amy is a nurse, and she said stone.

The second one was caught on film during my near death experience a year ago January. I got the little strainer to pee through, and there it was. When shown to the Dr., of course he asked about the pain. I told him I could feel it coming out, but no pain. Dude looked at me like .

For what it is worth, I am 39, and can chip porcaline with my stream. My distance is quite impressive also.

Vinegar, lemon, so it would seem a more acidic diet might help? Interesting.

I take potassium citrate for the stones. The worst pain in the world. Mine was a 9mm and too big to pass.

If you have children, you gave that same level of pain to your wife.

Now, go buy her a flower
