Good luck with that. I dug my canon out the other day, took forever to get film ( prices have gone up ).. then to get developed, ( again cost more than it used to ) then scanned since 'everyone' wanted a copy..
I also took a digital.. took 10x more pictures and didn't even bat an eye about the cost..
I prefer analog myself but its getting damned impractical
the zx-60 by itself is selling on ebay for $35 look at completed auctions. so 40 with 4 rolls of film is a deal.
I wasn't being sarcastic. Just the problem is feeding people these days that appreciate and want to deal with the heartache of film that doesn't already have a setup.

I had a Minolta 35mm camera back in the day. Tons of accessories and lots of lenses, some big. I had a little home business doing photos and videos of things like local races, ball games, weddings, etc. That camera was like $2500 in 1980 or so. I got a digital and local camera only shop (Cord Camera) gave me $200 trade for everything. Digital may not be the greatest, but by far the most practical these days. Dont you have to mail film in anymore to get prints ? And then it costs you like $15 for 1 or 2 prints of each. I can print 100 5x7s now for that.

There is a place up in town here that you can drop off and pick up later in the day. its one of the last holdouts. Around here even the drugstores have stopped doing it.
I guess walmart still does.. for what that is worth.

I was just thinking, places like Walgreens can make prints in about 30 minutes, but then the more I thought about it, I'm not sure they can still actually process the film anymore. Probably scrapped those machines already!
A shame, too.
I finally went to the "dark side" and got a DSLR in 2008 after suffering several years of increasing processing times and indifferent handling of my slide film. Even something that should in theory be available everywhere (E6 slide processing) was taking more than two weeks, depending on where I took it. Mailers were starting to look like a good option, but I REALLY don't like mailers.
I'm not giving up my little collection of Nikon SLRs, though. I have an F, an F2, an FA, an FM2, an N90S and an old Nikkormat. Those things will last longer than I will!
Walgreens does still sell 35mm and develop 35mm film. Your looking at 11 for singles and 15 for doubles 4 pack of film runs you 17 bucks. You dont need to scan your images to get a digital copy during printing they can create a cd for you for 3 bucks. I am actually really interested in these cameras but I have to wait till friday to see if I have the spare cash for it. I see prints all day long and digital just dosent have the depth of colors I get from 35 mm. ps not plugging walgreens i just work there so wanted to get the correct info out there.

Not all of them. The ones near me yanked their machines in the last year or so.

Dug out a Canon AE-1 recently, hoping to shoot with it when it warms up.
How long has it been since you shot with it?
Flick the shutter a few times, especially at 1/15th second. If the shutter makes a high pitched squeal, it is destined to fail. It may do it in a hundred rolls or it may do it tomorrow - you don't know. But it will fail. Shutter will need to be broken down and relubed (dry film lube) by a qualified technician.

My t-70 sat for about 12 years, and it worked fine after being dusted off this last fall...
I picked up a Rebel G film camera for my wife because she suddenly took an interest in photography. I like it because it uses the same lenses as my Canon 50d and 1d. Our local Walgreens still develops film and even though I love my digital cameras, but there is just something about the look of a well done print from an 'analog' camera.

I've heard of this issue, mine had not been used in probably 20 years but tested out OK.

I have one on my dresser. Friend gave it to me. Squeals at virtually every shutter release.
Like I said, it could run 100 rolls like this, or it could fail tomorrow.
This video says that it's the part of the release that returns the mirror to position. I think that it's a how to, but I can't hear anything, as my LT sound card no longer functions....

That's neat; I'd read of the "Canon squeal" but had not heard it myself. Everyone I knew who owned an AE1 (and that was a BUNCH of people some years ago) have long since moved onto something else.
I think they say the A1 does it too.

I will agree that digital is the easiest way to go now. That said, I'm still not ready to give up my FM2 with MD12 attachment. I hate the delay that all of the digital cameras I have ever used have. I can take 4 pictures in the time it takes one.
