In a friendly debate at work. Can't seem to find anything that even recognizes it as a word. Dictionary.com and Merriam-Webster.com say that either word can't be found. The manufacturer of the decryption unit spells it -or on a data sheet (once), but I can't verify that online. When I google decryptor, it replaces it with decrypter. When I search for decryptor on Wikipedia, it doesn't find anything and suggests decrypter.

Which one is correct? I need to put this word on a panel for some ground support equipment, and I would like it to be spelled correctly. I looked back at some older equipment we did and find it spelled both ways.

I know you guys will figure this out.

Doesn't the GSE have a manual or any documentation with the word on it?

We don't have the equipment or any documentation. The unis belong to USAF, we just provide a space to plug them in and power them on the GSU. All I can get my hands on is a publicly available PDF file.
