It would be funny if we weren't in such a sad situation. Now the fed will bail out Europe by printing billions more, which we will pay for through inflation.

Damn, it doesn't seem that hard, right? I mean, the Dept. of Education isn't straight savings, as you need to pay teachers regardless of what department writes the checks, but still...how can they come out and claim complete failure?
You can't pick one item that both people agree on? You can, but you don't want to. You want to hold on to that squirrel thing as hard as you can, so you can horse trade it for something else, and the republicans are doing the same damn thing.
Your system has failed.
Wasn't Obama going to pay for his jobs bill by having the committee cut an extra $400 billion or something...where does that leave his financing of the bill.
Oh.
Do it anyway. Right.

You don't understand what the DoE does. Teachers are paid by the state governments, not federal. That's the type of problem we have now with many politicians trying to fix a system they say is broken when they don't even know how it works. Yes, there is some federal funding, but that is typically for specific programs or to help offset budget shortfalls at the state level.

As a teacher, I'd gladly get rid of the DOE if all of the red-tape went with them.

He also has the answer for all the rich who think their taxes are too low.
Yes, it's real. http://www.treasurydirect.g...debt.htm#DebtFinance People have been putting their money where their mouth is since 1988, except everyone you see on TV today saying they wish they could pay more taxes, IF ONLY the government would raise them.
