I do remember seeing infomercials a while back for a small bottle of something to recoat scratched lenses on eyeglasses....maybe same stuff ? You just wiped it on the lens with a Q tip and let it dry.

Hes prob taking the bumper and fenders off so he can remove the headlites to wipe it on properly and just hasnt had the time.
