Just need to tell someone this, so I am going to shout it to the world.
I have a car for sale/trade here, and it is also posted on CL. It was posted before with no issues. Then I posted again with updated info since the car isn't running as well as it had been. It got flagged and reposted...and has been flagged like four or five times total, so I decided to try their forum. Thought maybe I was doing something that I didn't realize. The morons on there just kept saying that my car was only worth $700 and that I ruined it. They also said that any car with an engine swap is worth less than a non-swapped one. I finally just gave up after just repeating that they need to look around the web. A modified Fiero is worth more than a stock one in many cases.
Not trying to start an argument about whether stock or modded is better or worse or anything. I just wanted to complain about people flagging my post and then bashing my car. The only guy who seemed to be legitimately trying to help said that cars like that don't do well on CL, and I know that myself and many, many, many others found their Fiero (or multiple Fieros) on CL.
Douches.
If you want to, feel free to complain about stupid people here. Just needed to get that out somewhere. Thanks for reading.
Hey, I just wanted to let know you, I'm sorry you had a bad experience here on the forum. It can be a hostile environment for new people especially when they are trying to sell a car.
Just wanted to let you know, we all aren't bad. Although, there are many wolves in sheep's clothing here.

I'll vent something. About a year ago my step-brother was looking for a first car. He found a 1994 Probe with a body kit on CL for $1800. It was a beater but he is in auto tech and was going to fix it up. We went to meet the owner and he was real nice and was able to give a lot of info about the car. We ended up buying it and taking it home. The interior and body were rough but the drivetrain seemed solid. No more than two weeks later, we learn it had a severe crack in the block. The weird thing was there was no white smoke even though coolant got in there. I have a hard time believing the PO didn't know about since he himself was a mechanic. It just really pisses me off that he lied straight face to us that the engine didn't have any issues.
We ended up selling that POS at an auto auction for $300. Then my dad put a down payment put the money down on a used 2006 Mustang for him. That has been much better to us.
We had another member have a very bad experience with CL recently. He was trying to sell his car that he bought months prior, then rebuilt the engine. The idiots at CL thought he was just trying to sell it for more than he bought it for, so they kept flagging him. It was seriously ridiculous.
CL sucks if you get on the wrong track with one or two people on there. I don't know what is wrong with them, but sheesh.
I've always had great experiences on there myself.
