Anyone seen this documentary? Anyone know who the Whites are? Jesco White, the dancing outlaw?

I just watched it this morning at the recommendation of a friend of mine on Netflix (had to search for it, was available for instant streaming)

What a train wreck these people are. I like that it didnt glorify their behavior, rather made them look like the idiots they are. I didnt walk away feeling happy for them, sad for them, angry with them, or really anything other than "entertained". Not entertained in an MTV "16 and pregnant" train wreck kind of way, more like a little stunned at their collective reasoning and backwoods hillbilly lifestyle that runs through the entire clan.

Hank III was in it (Hank Williams Jr's son and musician) and hes kind of a mess too. I could have done without the commentary from the attorneys and members of county gov't but it was put together well. I almost wished there was more time spent on each member because I know theres more to them than the few minutes they showed of each, but theres so many of them it would have been a much longer film if they did.

Watched it? Thoughts?

Actually I dont think the movie itself was ridiculous. I think the people are ridiculous, but the movie as a documentary was quite good.

Saw, tell everyone else to watch it, waiting for part 2.......Hot ladies they have up that way..

I thought it was really depressing actually....

I was expecting it to be funny from the previews and being produced by Johnny Knoxville, but like most "reality" things that are out there now
they show the lowest forms of human nature.

I'm torn.

But I will watch it.

Lately, been VERY disheartened by my encounters with people outside my tiny little snippet of daily humanity

-The Reality stuff
-The 30-40 year olds people acting like they are kids (or basically like 'drunk' people stumblin' around)
and the awful way THEIR kids act

Not that I consider myself to be anything so fantastic, but I'm finding it very hard to believe I'm NOT in that Idiocracy movie.

Not the 'stumbling stupid', but the over-confidence of the self-proclaimed 'superior intelligent'.

They are drawing social security because they are self proclaimed crazies. So me and all the hard workers in America are paying taxes to support these drug dealing,cocaine sniffing pill heads and their offspring. And what gets me down is there are millions of lowlifes just like them. They seemed like they live for the next beer,pill and what ever fix they can get their hands on, it's just isn't right. If I lived there, I would be out hunting and fishing,planting a garden and making good use of the land and making my life better. But those people just want to sit around and get stoned every day living a meaningless life.

At least the one chick got her newborn taken away, but I still cant figure out how her and the rest of the family got to keep the other kids they have. The best part was that the whole family disagreed with CPS's decision and couldn't figure out why they took her besides the one that said they probably found drugs in the kid.

I found it rather enlightening to those of us who have no connections with people like that, and it actually makes me feel a lot better about myself as a productive human being, and a little scared that my >2 yr old WILL have interactions with those kind of people as she grows up in school.

And Boonie, you MUST see it, I am trying to find "The Dancing Outlaw" which is just about Jesco because I believe it will be as big a train wreck as the rest of the family.

I haven’t seen the movie but if it’s anything like Hank III’s web site, I’m not interested.

That small snipit they played of that was insane. He was going to slit her throat because she didn't make his eggs right

I enjoyed it, it was entertaining in a car wreck kinda way I guess.

Can't believe officials haven't taken the rest of those kids.

Netflix will add shows "like" what you watched, so a bunch of documentaries have shown up on my queue, gotta take the time to watch them some look really interesting by the descriptions.
