With a new contractor I just started I had to use Outlook 2007, however I can't get it to send any of my messages.

It logs into the server fine, but I get an error when trying to send test the account settings. It also seems to be very slow at receiving messages...

I've got this info,

Incoming Mail Server:
Incoming Mail Server: (SSL)
Outgoing Mail Server server requires authentication) port 25
Outgoing Mail Server: (SSL) (server requires authentication) port 465
Supported Incoming Mail Protocols: POP3, POP3S (SSL/TLS), IMAP, IMAPS (SSL/TLS)
Supported Outgoing Mail Protocols: SMTP, SMTPS (SSL/TLS)

I deleted the actual information since I don't know if I am suppose to share that yet :P

But I put the Outgoing mail server (SSL) into the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) spot in outlook and get nothing.

If you have cable, the instructions are online with your provider.

It's how I figure it out twice a year when I reformat my system.

Well, iIm tired, but I don't get some of your original post.
1. If you started at a company, did they provide you with the server info?

2. Do they have "outlook anywhere' (Outlook over HTTP)

You need to find out what type of servers they use (pop, imap, smtp, etc) and ports to use for the configuration - do they have OWA? (outlook via a web browser)

Substitute the server, login, and port info from your company, but the setup is the same if it's typical internet email.
