I have movies on my DVD queue that have been in the "Saved" list because Availability is "unknown". I requested them years ago. But you can move the mouse over the titles and see the descriptions, the year, and even their 5-star ratings. I don't understand why they give you hope when they will never send it. Why doesn't it just say "I'm sorry, this is not available on Netflix at this time"??? And how did they arrive at the 1- to 5-star rating for a movie they don't even have?
And before you ask, yes, I would love to put them on my Instant queue, but they aren't available there either.

It's possible the title you want is not available on DVD yet and if it becomes available then they will get it. Or that the title was once available on DVD but is not currently so they do not have a source to purchase it. One such title on my is Phantom of the Opera, the horror version from 1989 : http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...he_Opera_(1989_film) . It was once available on DVD but is not currently and Netflix does not have it available right now. Someday if it is released on DVD again, Netflix might then stock it and I'll get to see it. Alot of Disney stuff is that way to as they release something for a limited time then pull it and release it again at a later date. It's all about if they can get it or not and if they can't when will they be able to.

It's because Netflix is an evil bastard. I've had older movie in my que, then suddenly they switch from available to availability unknown. I have a theory, that if they don't get enough requests for a movie they drop it, or on newer shows , if they don't get enough requests they won't get it.
I know they are all about making money, but we are going to lose a lot of our not so great "B" movies. So I've been trying to store as many of them as I can. I've already hit a snag in one of my series. I have Deathstalker 1,3,4 but not 2. I've found it for sale for 40 bux, but as I said its a not so great "B" movie and not worth 40 bux.

Some movies are recalled because of legal issues. Some are from limited runs, some are lost, broken or unplayable. No conspiracy.... just the way life works.

That is what is happening. Also, there are plenty of movies still yet on DVD. But everything will go streaming in the future anyways.
What I love is movies I have in queue suddenly appears on Instant queue.
I'm down to 1 DVD at a time because online streaming is so plentiful of movies and documentaries.

had Deathrace 2000 "saved" since I got on Netflix years ago - and it just arrived last week YAY
All I remeber about that movie is that there was a blond girl with gigantic boobs... but the last time I saw it, I think I was like 11... and it was on HBO really late at night and my parents didn't know I was watching it.

I tried Netflix when they started. I was paying like $20 a month. Id give my choices and usually got the ones from the end of my list that were on broadcast tv for free anyway. Even those took a week to get and then they would tell me that I didnt return them. To avoid the stress, i cancelled.

I just joined Netflix a few weeks ago. So far I've received Star Trek, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Pink Panther 2, The Kings Speech, and True Grit. The 1st month is free and then 9.99 a month for 1 movie at a time but I am changing to 2 movies at a time for 15.99 a month. I cancelled my movie package with Verizon Fios that was running me over 42.00 a month that I rarely watched any movies on because there was nothing new and if there was it's tough to watch on their schedule. I hate tuning in when the movie started 20 min. ago. My queue is at 115 movies right now. I've got some movie catching up to do.

I have Netflix on hold for the past year or so and I'm currently using Blockbuster's mail to order movies. I used to use both services at the same thing and I noticed that whenever I used netflix in the Bay Area my movies arrived ASAP-even the hard to find movies. However, if I was down south the company took their sweet heart time.
As of now, Blockbuster latest movies have been on delay status, but the movie is featured at various stores. Therefore, all you have to do is walk into the local store and exchange the mailer for the newest movie in the store. This method works pretty good, but not on Fri, Sat, or Sun. On those particualr days the stores are fresh out.

You should stream them. It's unlimited.
