Nice post! Sad thing is we are not at the forefront of this technology, or the whole alternative energy thing might be solved by now. Too bad the Greenies control the green needed to develop our energy.. Just keep burning the food.

Sounds awesome, but it maybe too late. The Enviro Leftist have basically won. Everybody is shutting down their nuclear power plants because of Enviro Leftist fears and control.

Thorium reactors have been in the news several times since the events in Japan started unfolding - especially in reference to China's attempts to get this up and running to move away from coal fired plants.
Kind of sad that research into this type of reactor was pretty much abandoned in the 50's (at least in North America) because it didn't produce fissionables for nuclear bombs.
