LMGTFY:

Brass knuckles are a misdemeanor... nunchucks aren't named in FL legal code.

Neither are legal here in Missouri (according to the local police)

My Brother-in-law had bras knuckles that had been turned into a belt, and they were confiscated.

Im a FLAW-DA boy

studying law, and having a few run ins as a teen with cops ans concealed weapons (nothing serious never got charged), Brass knuckles are illegal unless you wear them as get this, a BELT BUCKLE.

Nunchuks are actually ok to carry around but even Bruce Lee said they were inefficient weapons in a fight, they are more for show. If they are wood a good forearm block will have them wrap around your arm enabling you to step in and gut your attacker with a small blade.

Nunchaku are cool and they will make the user look bigger than they are, think peacock.
But unless you work out with them regularly and as part of the training you actually hit things with them you would be better off just carrying around a stick

I use to work out with a set of Nunchaku that were made out of rebar, they were 12 pounds. Sure I couldn't whip them around but after getting use to them you go back to a nice oak and it feels like a feather.
But I would still rather hit you with a stick, more control.

I grew up in the late 70s early 80s and Bruce Lee was one of my hero's so I started playing with Nunchaks at around 12 or so. My first set were made out of an old brum handle, I used a kife to wittle them and bore the holes for the rope.
They didn't weigh anything and I could whip them around pretty well, then I got hold of some real ones and laid my elbows open a few times. Nothing like cracking your funny bone with 14 inches of oak to make you learn how to stop hitting yourself.

I don't know what happened to my training equipment, I think my wife sold it at a garage sale. I should get some and start working out again, they are a great way to get moving.

Brass knuckles are illegal here, and I'm sure carrying any other object ( sticks, bricks, etc ) with intent to use as a weapon would be too, other than a gun if you are licensed. Knives i think are classified differently however.

that said, before i could carry a gun, i had a 24" piece of rebar in my car since i traveled a lot. If i got into trouble rather be tried by 12.....

Both are illegal in NY. Jake is correct in many ways with the above post except...

This depends on the person using them. I have far better control working with nunchaku then i do with sticks. Not sure why but i trained with both since i was 7yo (32 now) and i'm just better with flailed weapons. Some people take to flailed weapons better then stiff weapons. Depends on the person.

Jake: I trained with lead cored oak 5" chained nunchaku... i picked up a pair of the feather weight maple ones once. Lets just say it wasn't pretty for the first hour getting used to it.

Sticks are easier to find on the street. Also, you can carry one and not hafta answer a lot of questions. Two are even better.

"nun-chuks" are fun, though. I usually end up whacking myself in a painful spot, though...
(I am VERY MUCH the opposite of "trained")

I had a broom handle to hold up the hatch on my old mustang, so a valid excuse to have it

That's funny, it's the exact same reason my wife used for the crossbow she had in the backseat when I met her.

Depend were you live and drive/walk thru... state, county, even city....

Allot of thing are class as weapon and may need a CCL to carry or Some item can't carry and is Ban:

Knife over size limit
Nunchucks
Shurakan, including Throwing Stars
Most Martial Art weapons are illegal to carry
Tassers and any shock devices
Tear gas, including pepper spray
brass knuckles
List is very long...

Carry weapon is a Felony of some, Misdemeanor for others, And can depend on DA etc...

And some states, MD is one, allow guns etc but has no "self defense" law on books. Self defense argument will get you in prison.

I'm not one to carry weapons, never have... But it pisses me off that its outlawed. Guns I understand because there are certain conditions, but all these other things.. Come on. Hell even when I was an Aux police officer, all we could carry was our crappy wood baton. Good luck getting anything done with that if the need arises, we could get arrested for even having pepper spray. Good thing I like to use my hands in case I'm in a tight spot. I've always wanted some shurikens though just for kicks.

I honestly don't understand why any of these laws still stand. We have a fundamental RIGHT in the U.S.A. to defend ourselves, and that right was upheld by the SCOTUS. My hope is that most of these so-called 'laws' that only serve to allow disarmed 'victim' zones will be eventually stricken from the books, either by being rescinded legislatively, or by force by judiciary means.

Any fool knows that gun laws only serve to disarm the law abiding citizen, and make easy prey for the criminals. Same with 'knife' laws, brass knuckles, etc.

Unlikely to happen... Most add to list of weapon.

"Right" to self defense? No such Right. Many MD prisoner would disagree with you.
Many state have Self Defense Laws on the book and/or in State Charter but Not MD. Nothing is US Constitution either.
Self Defense has covered several time in MD Legislature but not enough vote or when pass, Dem Governor Veto it every time.
