Always did before, but now if I click on an link (eBay for example), in an email, it does nothing? I can't help thinking that blasted 'you have updates ready to upload' thing is screwing with it Every time I refuse to click on 'upload', it plays up. I am convinced Microsoft have something written into the updates that messes with your computer if you don't 'do as we WANT!!!!' Has happened many times in the past, not just on this laptop

Is the OS maybe starting to get corrupt? Honestly... if you haven't changed it out, then it's the original XP install from the company back in 2004... heh.

It might be time to do a re-install.

Click Start, Run. In the run box, type "regsvr32 urlmon.dll" without the quotes
and press Enter. Then open Internet Explorer and go to Tools, Internet Options,
"Programs" tab, and click on "Reset Web Settings...", click "Apply", "OK"

Click Tools, Internet Options or Start, Settings, Control Panel, Internet
Options, under Tempory Internet Files, click "Delete Files", check "delete all
offline content", click "OK", "OK", Reboot Windows to refresh the OS.
Now try it again. If it still fails to work, then look here:
