What the heck is going on here? I ordered a motorcycle helmet from a guy in New Jersey, and it's been stuck in processing in Cincinnati for almost a week!
Gross incompetence, or WTF?

Sounds like a job for investigative reporter LESS NESSMAN!!
It's the USPS's tracking site, it's probably been delivered to you already.
I was tracking a package through them once, I logged in to view it, and it showed that it had just been dropped off in California. I picked it up that day with my mail. Two days later the website updated to show it was delivered.
At least you were smart enough to get a tracking number.
I sent an iPod touch through USPS, no tracking number, and the other party never received it.
I wonder who is enjoying my device now...
Speaking of, I need to bump my "Where is kslish?" thread, I am pretty sure he never got it, but hasn't contacted me, and I don't want to just send a refund to his PayPal without some kind of contact with him first...

It may mean it's lost... sorry, I had that happen with some books... they never did find them, or where they went, just where they had been in the sorting facility!
Or it may mean the package was opened/damaged and needed to be taped up, had a package of books where there were supposed to be 4 books, but I only got 3 and they didn't even bother to put a note in it saying hey, I think something got lost... just a note on the outside saying it had been torn open.

A retired USPS who is also collecting his pension.
He would say thanks, but his union tells him that he is entitled to what you used to own.
