Did that before, exhaust fell off at the cat, it was loud! I babied the throttle until I saw a dollar store, picked up 6 hangers for a buck and used 4 to tie up the pipe close enough to the cat that it wasn't very loud, then drove 100 miles home.

Same thing the cars exhaust broke off at the cat, defening loud, I stopped at the next gas station and they has some groceries, I bought a can of beans, luckily they had a can opener! I took both ends off the can and used it as an extension over teh gap where the pipe broke, squezed it a bit so it would not fall off. It lasted 90 miles home.

OH, this happened in the winter with snow on the ground.
