Anyone know of anything like that? It would be great to turn on my monitor and have everything set low with dark colors so it doesn't take several minutes for my eyes to adjust from the blinding brightness during the middle of the night.

You can change your monitor brightness/contrast to look nicer.

There are night modes on certain websites... Idk about the whole computer though. Chrome or Firefox might have a plugin.

Maybe you can find a theme for Windows... like that old "LCD" one (which was garish, but sorta resembles the "night mode" on GPSes...

If you change other settings, some stuff might be almost unreadable, and will strain your eyes worse...

I'm not sure what kind of computer you're on, but most laptops (if not all) have a button or a Fn+button that can change the screen brightness. On my Dell, it's on the up/down arrows. For monitors (desktops) there will usually be some option buttons that deal with brightness, contrast, screen position ext. on the front or side of the monitor.
Or you can go into settings and change the options on the video card. But for a quick change I always just use the function buttons.

Hope this helps

Go to control panel,
Go to accessibility options.. I think... Working from memory here..
And set it to high contrast mode. I believe that is as close as you will get to what you want, with the stock setup.

Chrome has a night mode plug in...I can't recall what it is called. It dims things though.. Also, most TVs/monitors have a brightness control...
