Saw this on Career Builder this evening. I figure it's a good starting point if I want to get into politics.

Yeah, hell, if I had any idea that being a community agitator led to such lofty positions, I might have feigned liberalism for a few years.

p.s. - I was a car club president for 5 years - shouldn't that qualify me for at least a cabinet position?

Ron,

Generally all grants are "one year" contracts with them being renewable every year.. In other words, the grant needs to be re-applied every year. My last gig was as a project manager for an IDOE grant, renewed every year.. lasting a 5 year stint. I guess what I'm saying is, don't let the 12 month thing throw you for a loop.

The thing is, it is political. Our grant ended when we got a new state super, and he decided to treat education as a business entity and put the bottom line in front of the needs of the teachers and students. Public Education is not supposed to be a profit center.

At any rate, if you're really considering it... I'd be more than happy to share my experiences in a grant situation with you. Let me know and I'll give you a call

how is community organizer a real title? If I gather the community together with a free lunch, then I am a community organizer and maybe I could become president one day!

It would land you a spot in jail in Cuba for conspiracy / to conspire against the government.

You may not have more than 3 unrelated people meeting outside of work or government functions, if they are not granted the express permission of the government for the right to assemble.

That IS suspicious Todd.

That guy is looking at the camera instead of the girl's butt. Something definitely going amok there.
