Yeh..OK, in my past I worked with cattle...not like i've never been on an insane horse (and no I wont anymore)...not like I've never slept in the stall beside the critter...
so my G/F gets this bright--real bright idea (NYC city girl) that she is going to sign me up for rodeo at a county fair.....
UUUHHHHH.....i'm 43 and somehow managed to live tru having my head stepped on by my LAST exercise in human stupidity around large animals......
Yeh...my back aches every damn day...my knees are about gone and I pop tylenol like candy....the arthritis in me feet puts me in a chair some days..........
And hell ya, gob sabe me from myself....but I'm getting on what she sighned me up for. for about 3 seconds.......if I didnt get gold in my 20's, and my 30 were a complete loss, then my 40's are pretty much guaranteed suicide.
If you're looking for support, you got it from me.
Plan A: clean your small bore rifle and 'accidentally' shoot one of your inner toes right off your foot.
Plan B: enter the rodeo and be a tria-plegiac because they'll have to take a leg when they try to fix your back after you get stomped several times while face down.
Hope I was helpfull.

Yeh...probably....dont care...........most amazing thing you will ever see in your life is a wild stallion at full gallop runinng free.........7 or 8 trying to corral him....one man standing in the middle of the road.....and going to the hospital in an ambulance because 600 pounds of show pony doesnt even notice when it hits 200 pounds of human..

You ridin' stallion or bull? If bull try to lean to the inside of his rotation but watch for the change in direction. They like to spin. If horse keep yourself as loose as possible and just go with it's up and down flow. Horses tend to look rough but are a lot easier than bulls and if you draw the right one can even be smooth though to the crowd it looks crazy. If you feel yourself losing grip try to come off to the side and not straight up. Always remember to tuck and roll when you hit ground. Then if the animal is on you stay curled up and let the clowns do their job. As soon as it leaves you, run like hell.
Somewhere around this site is pictures of my actual brain meats. I got stuck to a horse and it dragged me several laps around the arena until I took out a post with my head... Good times!

I'm not doing it......man, I was abot 20 or 21 years old..my job was to take the cattle off the truck, wiegh them, and put them in pens for the morning kill.....they came from ontario and quebc to this slaughter factory.....99.99% were docile...but this one bull ....he got a horn caught in the bolt-hole comming off the scales...that guy ripped his own horn off his head, charged the barn, broke concrete blocks hitting them with his head, bent steel on barn gates, and finally had to be shot...........I saw him come 5 feet off the floor, fighting for his freedom.
Its something I'll never forget, and will always--always respect.....and somehow, its something in them I wont TRY to tame or beat....that kind of will, that kind of freedom...ya just stand back and say "ok dude"
