i am selling and moving. Everything will be real cheap. I have a place to go with two of the most possibly nicest people I have ever met. Towfatguys and his wife. They have offered to take me (a broken and beat 19 year old) away from his hell at home. They have opened their door to me and I am going to walk through it. Its going to be the start of my new life. No one there that is holding me down, no friends always asking for **** and drug abuse. It sounds like i will be at home in MO. Brad and rachle have opened their door to me to use while i get on my feet. Anything i can not fit in a suitecase will be left. Anything that can not be sold will be given away....This gets me to the sad part....my fiero. Im going to have to abandon the project and sell what I can. that is going to brake my heart seeing it go along with all of my tools. everything is going to be sold and i am moving. Brads place will be a "halfway" house. This is the biggest gamble i have ever taken. Lets hope it works
Why am I not surprised? And even better, why am I ecstatic that two of the nicest people have opened their door to somebody with real love and affection for somebody who truly seems to deserve help? I am SURE you will all succeed in getting heads above water, and prosper in the future. What a wonderful, kindly gesture, and I am proud you are all my friends. I just don't know what else to say? I can see opening your door to a family member, but to open it for a stranger just blows me away.I wish I was that good a person. The best of luck to all of you !!
It sucks that you're in the situation to start with, but you're taking action to get out of it
Brad and Rachael are good people, you'll do fine there. Jobs are slim pickings in the area, but its that way everywhere right now. It'll probably be a bit of a culture shock too.
Don't worry about the Fiero, they're plenty easy to come by and I know Brad has a couple of parts cars that could be put together into a decent car if you really wanted a project to keep you busy.
Make the most you can out of this, This is one hellova opportunity to improve your life. Time to really work on yourself, become an 'solid' adult, avoid all vices and excuses. You may be sad about giving up a car, but if you improve your life, you will be able to own more, and be so much more.
Sometimes, it's not really bad to have a crappy spell in your life - it is perhaps the best motivation, knowing firsthand where you DON'T wanna end up, or with who you don't wanna end up with!!!
Don't waste this opportunity!!!!! (I know, you KNOW this already)
but
I'm freakin' ecstatic over here. Brad and his better half are so freaking amazing, I am absolutely beside myself.
This "gamble" isn't really much of a gamble. The next few years will be tough, but man, you are gonna be alright. Just remember to name your first kid after Brad (hope it's a girl!)
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

Someone has a song out which the lyrics say "at every end is a new beginning". I would not think of Brad's place as a halfway house, as you will never be halfway through your journey in life. Good luck, .

Good luck Antuzzi. Sort out what is good from your life, and take it with you--leave the bad behind. And for goodness sake--don't look for guilt to pack in your suitcase on the trip to a new beginning--from what I've read here, you have none. Eyes wide open Antuzzi--eyes wide open.
Brad--you the man. There's no better investment on earth than that of the IPO of a young person's life.

This is good to hear. Brad and Rachael remind me so much of two other people I know but I'll get into that in a minute. A suggestion, when you get there find a day labor company and sign on with them. It won't be great pay but it will give you the chance to earn some money. Basically you call them in the morning, usually around 6 and if they have a job they tell you where and you go do whatever it is they need done. Digging ditches, setting up fences or whatever the employer needs. At the end of the day you go to the day labor company and they cut you a check. It will open up doors at those companies if they like the way you work.
If I could give Brad another plus he'd get it.
Now, the two people. Back when I lived in Cali we lost our home. We decided that we couldn't keep our heads above water anymore in Cali so moving was our only real option. We looked at several places and two friends we knew from a online game, Everquest, offered to give us a place in Utah to get back on our feet. The next offer blew our mind. We looked at the cost of moving vans to get us out there and it wasn't cheap. They offered to bring there truck and trailor out and pack us up to move, all we had to do was pay for their gas. We accepted. That will have been 5 years ago this October. It wasn't easy, but when I look back I'm glad we accepted their offer.
A new start is never easy, but here's wishing you the best of luck.
We have since returned the offer given to us to another. My wifes BF from highschool had seperated from her husband and didn't know what she was going to do. She is currently staying with us getting back on her feet working at Kohl's out here.

All too often, I see people make really stupid decisions because they become emotionally attached to an inanimate object. I know it sucks having to let go of those things. But they're just things. They can be replaced. Your life cannot.
When I was your age, I had to make a similar decision. But instead of moving in with friends, I moved in with Uncle Sam (joined the Army). If I can do it, you can too. You're a tough kid.
Good luck, Kris.

I think it may be a mistake to leave as it will be hard to afford to come back but I hope it works out for you.
I offered you a job and a large RV you could stay in down here. If you proved not to be an idiot I could have gotten you a full weeks work every week.
Anyway I ain't your financial adviser. I wish you good luck and fun adventures. Get me some pics or a detailed description. I just rolled near your house yesterday. I wish I had known I would have checked it out then.

Do not turn away from this opportunity. Your family is dragging you down. Go, take this chance, put all your effort into it and become the best man that you can. Then some day, years later come back to your family if you must. Do not let them drag you down though. I am too familiar with your situation. My father was a drug addict most all of my life and my mother was not much better. I've been making it "on my own" since I was 15-16. Do you have a paypal? I will donate what little I can afford for you to make the move.
Good luck, ~Tyler
