Look at your startup programs and decide which ones you don't need to run at startup. Delete all temporary files and cookies, do a disk cleanup. Remove any unnecessary files and programs, from your hard drive, to free up more space on it. Defragment your drive. Add more ram or faster ram if you can.

I hate to sound like a dumby but how do you do most of the things you listed? I deleted the cookies and temp files and cleared the history. Everything else was the way it was before the virus. If I could get it back to the original speed it had a week and a half ago it would be fine with me.
make sure you are ONLY running ONE anti-virus or spy- or mal-ware program at a time it is fine and dandy to have various programs just doNOT let them auto-run themselfs
Iv been using it for years, and love this program (plus its free).. Works great, and works instantly as well.. Run this little program every day when your done using your computer for the day, and it will be like you never used it at all.. Plus its just interesting to see how much junk windows will build up on your system after even just one day of use.. Really works great to help keep your system clean and stable..
Just go to downloads and get version 1.7.1614.. Install it, run it, takes about two seconds to clean, and your done.

Go to www.crucial.com , it will tell you how much ram you can add to your system. In your control panel you can use the add/remove programs to delete unnecessary programs.

The first thing you want to do is go to "Start", "Run", and type msconfig in the box and hit enter. When the box opens up, click on the "Startup" tab and uncheck things you don't want to startup when Windows starts. Here is mine. The only thing that boots is the anti-virus and Spysweeper:
If you feel comfortable posting screen shots of your startup page, I can tell you what you do and don't need.
Edit to add.......I guarantee your list is probably triple the size of what mine is
Edit again......or just PM me your phone number and I will walk you through everything you need.

Thanks Jonesy for posting a link to a product that does nothing except ask for money
Use CCleaner. It is free and works great. I recommend that you only leave "recently typed url's", "Desktop shortcuts", and "Wipe free space" unchecked. Otherwise check everything else. On the "Registry" tab, check everything. Works flawlessly. Click on the green "Download Latest Version" on the upper right:
Well I did the Filehippo thang. Kinda scared the crap out of me when it said all cleaned items would be permanetly deleted. I can't tell anything got deleted and so far it seems to be smoother and faster. If anything changes I check back.
Thanks guys

The program goes out and deletes history files, useless stored data, and registry items that are no longer valid. That is why you get the "delete" warning. It is harmless sofware. The only thing you have to be careful about is that if you have anything in your recycle bin, it erases them. Some people delete items to the recycle bin and don't empty it. Then they change their mind and go back to use a file later on. The software empties it for you. That and your internet history are the only items you can really "lose" with the software.
