"The flag should be displayed with the union down, as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property."

Read my Earthship thread in Totally O/T
si vis pacem, para bellum

"The said constitution shall never be construed to authorize Congress to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms." - Samuel Adams

What part of "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" is so hard to understand?!

Proof once again that left wing liberalism has no connection to reality or basic sense. Democrats must lie to themselves to believe (?) what they stand for. How does anyone live like that?

Someone said that liberalism is a mental disease. That is starting to make sense.

When you come across one person constantly complaining and blaming everything on someone else and never on what they can or should do to solve their own problems. How much faith do you put on their success?

agreed, but how else does one educate and motivate people to get involved and care? The turn out for the primary election was abyssmal!

I wish it was that simple Roger but look what happened when the GOP controlled Congress for too long with weak leadership. The Contract with America was brilliant. Newt Gingrich was the best Speaker of the house is a generation and he was run out of town on a rail by the Dems for it. The GOP had no stomach for a s*** fight in Congress so after 4 short years of working FOR the American people the GOP candidates either got sick of the politics and quit, got swayed by the political machine and slowly bought off, or got a little big for their britches with their cushy jobs, easy hours, big benefits and expense accounts and basically just stopped caring.

Absolute power corrupts even the most noble and without periodic turn over in leadership and congressional tag team work we are screwed. We need to keep ALL of the bastards honest.

I'll be the first to admit that the disparity of crooked Democrats to Republicans is 8 to 1 but even that 1 is too much for me. I want people elected becasue of WHO they are, not which party happens to be more responsible in general.

At the end of the day, I just hope an anti-Obama rises from the ashes of the tea party or the republican party (or even the libertarian party) who is just as savvy, just as good an orator, just as charismtic, but who loves the foundation upon which our nation rests and works diligently and honestly to restore the country (which to me means fixing the debt issue, winning the wars, fixing the border, shrinking the government, etc.)

Imagine how much change there truly would have been since the election if the dems really did care about the people the represent and the country they serve!

Corruption and power hungering keeps the old way alive, even though they all claim they are the new way.
When will the people learn that good speeches don't equate to good policies.

By setting a example that is unwavering.

Using the word "but" in a sentence after an agreement is equivalent to the small print on a shady car sales warranty.

If only the Democrats voters knew how their elected officials think they are dumb.

Then again, maybe there is a good reason that the Democrat politicians think their voters are dumb?

Correction:

A) Vote Independent and continue destroying the entire elitist regime in the country.

B) Vote Republican and continue destroying the entire country...and a couple others as well.

Actually, it's "useful idiots". I think Lenin said that. Ironic, isn't it?

Fiorina Leads Boxer for First Time in California Senate Race

California Democratic senator Barbara boxer is trailing Republican challenger Carly Fiorina by 2 points--47% to 45%--in a new SurveyUSA poll of likely voters released this evening. Fiorina has been closing in on Boxer--cutting the Democrat's lead from six, to five, to four, to three points in the last four polls--but this is the first public poll showing Fiorina in the lead.

The same SurveyUSA poll shows Republican Meg Whitman leading Democrat Jerry Brown 46% to 39% in the California gubernatorial race.

Happy news for CA.
Though I do hope that Meg has bigger nads than Arnold because she will need them.
Wonder if the steroids he took took, them from him.
