There is work, you can find it. Is your group 4 people that you are traveling with?
Just the wife and I. The other 2 women are staying with family waiting for us to get set up before we coalesce as a single unit again. I am therefore becomming pressed to make this all happen. And I will.

I am in a nice little place called Gresham, Or., just outside Portland.
From the road:
Today i'm going to the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry!
I'm going to see OMNIMAX:
1. Hubble Narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio
2. Deep Sea Narrated by Johnny Depp & Kate Winslet
3. Dinosaurs Alive! Narrated by Michael Douglas
Then I will top it off with The Laser Shows:
1. Michael Jackson Song list: The Way You Make Me Feel, Human Nature, Thriller, Billie Jean, and Beat It
2. Rush Songlist: Fly By Night, 2112: Overture, 2112: Temples of Syrinx, The Trees, Closer to the Heart, Tom Sawyer, Subdivisions, Distant Early Warning, Big Money, Dreamline, Presto
3. Pink Floyd: The Darkside of the Moon Song List: Speak to Me, Breathe, On the Run, Time, Breathe (Reprise), The Great Gig in the Sky, Money, Us and Them, Any Colour You Like, Brain Damage, Eclipse
I guess I will look around the museum a little, too.
Just catching up on your journeys. Sounds like lot's of fun.

I also bought a kite while at the beach years ago. Forget what I spent but it wasn't cheap. A steerable, two handled, triple layer, stunt kite. Standard kite shape, with each layer tethered to the lower layer by three foot of line at every corner and the center. Three different colors with matching 25 foot tails. I still have that sucker. Best wishes your way Boon.

I thought you were supposed to be looking for a job? Nice pictures though. I used to carry a disposable camera in the car all the time. Now I always forget to throw the digital one in there when I go someplace. Keep the pictures coming.

Check the "CPOL" (Google Army jobs ) websie for DOD jobs--they may have pinsetter mechanic jobs at Ft Lewis?Mcchord JFB in Tacoma. It could be a new start but the pay may not be all that great.
Also dont forget "Express personnel services" and like temporary agencies. You can get temporary work, and the agency can and will keep you as busy with work as you can stand.
Boeing may have a hiring period soon also with the imminent ramp up of production for the 747-8i and the subject of my avatar, the 787-8 and 9.
Finally, if you havent done so already, file for unemployment asap. Remember the business went under, so its not like you quit work. its your benefit, use it.
Boonie, that is good advice from htexans. Also register at www.usajobs.gov, fill out your resume online and register for updates and see what they have in Tacoma and Seattle. McChord AFB and Fort Lewis are huge civilian employers. Both installations use contractors but the government jobs pay best. usajobs.gov lists all jobs including the Armed Forces, forest service, dept. of agriculture, etc. For pay scales, go to www.dfas.gov and you'll see that government wages have kept pace with inflation.

You mean "Joint Base Lewis McChord" right?

Saturday I head back to Seattle. I was able to rent a very nice unfurnished 3 bedroom apartment in a pet friendly gated community for $1,000 a month, $600 deposit, $300 non-refundable. And all without a job. Renting without a job IS possable, If you got good credit and cash-on-hand.
It's all rather expensive though becouse without a job I have to pay 3 months in advance, then it's $100 more a month on top of the $900 a month rent becouse i'm renting month-to-month with no lease.
Better find a job real quick before the above "temporary housing" rules suck up all my cash. Anyone need a handjob? - I play the spoons for cash.........................
