I'm with Oreif. If I lived somewhere that had a no pet policy I'd have a medium sized aquarium. Fish don't really respond to the owners but they can be very relaxing and enjoyable t watch and are exremely beautiful. Some are higher maintenance than others, but most are not too bad if they're freshwater. I don't think you want to start with saltwater fish.

Ah... fish would be neat, and I wouldn't have to worry about them running around the house.
Well, I'm going to get a pet that I hadn't thought of before, at least for a while. My sister has a tarantula that she wants me to take care of while she's gone. I don't really like spiders, but I can probably handle this.

How about a buzzard? There's been one around here for about 3 months, with a missing wing, and I've just about got him to eat raw chicken gizzards and hearts from my hand. Still skittish right now--he waits for me to drop it near him, and watches me like a hawk while I back away a few steps.

Is she hot? If so, is she crazy? If not, keep her! LOL

Crazy can be good too. Or at least you get used to it after a while and 'normal' becomes boring.

Here's Annie!

I just fed her today. She likes crickets according to my sister, so I caught a couple of smaller ones. I'm not sure if I will ever try to hold her or not. She's nearly as big as my hand.
Anyway, I'll be taking care of her for a while.

So cuddley. EEP, those things just look menacing, nothing like that where I live except in cages like that one thank goodness.

I find spiders fascinating but when they get that big they are a little creepy.

What he said. I don't trust them very much. WHY would they NOT sink their fangs into you?

Heck, there were a few times when my mantids creeped me out. Have fun with your new pet. Might wanna join a bug forum so you get the best info (caresheets) on raising those things... (you might need to do some stuff during their molting process or whatever...)
