Well, I go to bed at the wrong hours and wake up at 1 or 2 in the afternoon. This is EVERYDAY. So today im going to try something new. I woke up around 2pm today and am not tired at the moment (2:28am). So im thinking staying up 24 hours will help my sleeping pattern. Im thinking about doing a dump run and pull the fiero engine tomorrow. This will drain me and I will have no choice but to go to bed at a decent hour. Anyone ever done such a thing? Im thinking It will work.....

when i am desperate to get my sleep schedule back in line, i stay up all thru the night (sometimes 2) and go to sleep the following night at a normal time.
like, im still awake now, havent slept since friday night. if i wanted to fix my sleep routine, i would continue to stay away tonight/today (not sleep saturday night/sunday morning) and go to sleep tonight (sunday night). skip a niight of sleep, basically...exactly what you said lol. it works for me

Breaking up the established sleep pattern in a great way to set up a new routine but, a primary key is to maintain a routine. I do that by getting up every morning early, regardless of the time I go to bed. That will guarantee that I'm tired the following night. I always get up between 5 and 5:30 AM. It also means that there will be late night events you must choose to either miss or pay the price of being tired. Keeping regular hours is important to your body's general health. Some folks survive on limited sleep. Some folks sleep their live's away. How much sleep you really need is somewhat individual but, you need to sleep long enough to get into REM.

We pay for the life style we lead. Get off your butt and find something to do that will keep you occupied. Go out and hand wash that Fiero. Wait, didn't you recently get a Jeep? It most likely could use a good cleaning. Move it Buster!!!!

That's a mistake - that stuff WILL mess with your sleeping habits. Better to regulate the DOWN then try to maintain the UP. Get some Melatonin and/ or Valerian root pills.
edit: well if you DO need to be awake for the run, i guess RS WILL help... Don't forget your beef jerky!

You know. I live up in the mountains a little ways. I just took a shower and in the shower I watched the sun come over the hill. It lit up our little meadow and our pond had a perfect reflection of the sky. It looked friggen awesome. In the 18 years i have lived here i have never seen that. Everything is quiet at 6am. All you could hear was the horses walking around in the meadow. Kinda nice. Well im off to cook breakfast.

Looks like the A&W root beer mugs that I usually drink milk from. As for the sleep deprivation I try and stay up during the day drinking coffee and then head straight to bed around 8-9PM--that usually makes-up for the lack of sleep and combines missed hours of sleep. I end-up getting 12-hrs of sleep when that happens.

I also goto bed early, i figured that even if i dont sleep the extra time of 'rest' has got to help.
And it looks like an A&W mug too. I used to have bunches of them from several decades..

Check out "Circadian rhythm" on the net. That is the "sleep problem" you describe.
Some health web sites may offer clues to use to get it back into shape.
Of course milk can help one with sleep. Triptophane in milk is a chemical present in milk that helps with sleep.

I have a three A&W root beer mugs that are nearly 25 years old, but two months ago I was at a Long Johns Silver/A&W drive through and purchased a A&W mug. I think with the drink (root beer float) it was $5-7 bucks. The logo has changed a bit, but the glass is still thick compared to your standard glass cups and they can hold a 12oz can of soda. I keep one mug in the freezer and another mug filled with water--ready to go (it's a simple reminder to keep the body filled with water 16 oz-instead of drinking soda or beer). By keeping the A&W mugs in the freezer--makes your drinks stay cooler verse a plastic cup/regular glass.
To keep this theme on track, if I'm having trouble sleeping I try and work out on the treadmill (inside the garage) and the PX90 routine. After doing the excersises, shower, and/or light snack---I fall asleep ASAP!

Blue light therapy can help. Right now, I'm researching how blue light can affect energy during the day. It's already proven that it affects sleep patterns, but I'm trying to apply it elsewhere..
Anywho, blue light is most accessible by the sun. Spend more time outdoors during the day, and your body will fall back into a good rhythm. It affects your "internal clock".
And if you don't sleep for a day, don't sleep 12 hours the next day. Wake up after 10 hours at the latest. Preferably 8. Too much sleep makes your metabolism slow down so much that by the end of the day, you are just then waking up fully. You will quickly fall into the same cycle again.
