I spent the afternoon trying to get my Helicopter trim right. I have had it for ages... and crashed it the first time I flew it, because I didn't check everything was tight beforehand, and one of the control arms came off the swashplate Anyway, I fitted a new aluminum head unit, new rotors and tail rotor. I have it almost right except, when I increase the throttle to get it to lift off, it moves to the left, despite adjusting the connector arms for ever. I have heard that the wash from the main rotors can cause this, when it hovers too close to the ground.
I know Roger has one, and several others too. Any advice or tips?

Pretty amazing micro-engineering goes into these things

You need a training rig so you can practice how to fly without crashing. You can also get a flight simulator for your PC that uses a controller like the one you have for your model.

I have the flight trainer John...it came with the heli.it is not very good for heli's , as far as I have found, anyway. Another problem is that I only have our front room to try it in...and clear floorspace is only about 2.5 yards square...and Zwerver tries to attack it!! I daren't let him get near the rotors...they are VERY powerful, and would probably take his jaw off!!

I like my E Flite helo CS2. I modified it slightly so I can fly it outside in low winds. You really need at LEAST a 2 car garage to do indoors. I think the blades for it are like 6 or 8 in a package for $7.00

Ive seriously thought about bringing my 6' turbine powered F4 out of living room mothballs. Needs some repairs to be airworthy (stress cracks in wing covering) It hasnt flown since like 1995. Takes 2 ppl to start it, but sounds awesome.

Been awhile since I've looked at R/C Helis, especially micro electrics. Is that a CCPM rig? Pretty cool if so. I had a pretty good time with a manual mixer and 4-channel airplane radio. That was back when a "decent" Futaba 6-channel heli radio was just shy of a grand. I was too poor at 16 to be able to afford it, and by the time I could I had already stopped flying...
