So let me get this straight. You have an older 3/4 ton, 4 wheel drive Suburban with a 454 Big Block that you tow a boat with and you're complaining about 10mpg??? I have an '04 4 wheel drive, 4 door Blazer that has never towed anything with a 4.3L V6 (rarely out of 2 wheel drive and drive it like yer granny) and I'm happy to get 20 on the highway. I'm confused. Jesus performs miracles, Suburbans don't.

Edit: I own page 2.

There ain’t much in this world that a Suburban hasn’t pulled. From the early 30’s to today they have always been peoples first choice to tow with and bring along everyone.

But people that haul these things around can not expect good mileage.

If you want to haul something, you need power. Power costs mileage. If you get mileage anywhere in the teens you should consider yourself
LUCKY.

Fuel mileage is the reason that I have another vehicle to drive when I don't need the Suburban. It's my plow and trailer towing truck and it's not even insured during the warmer months. I only insure it for a few days if I need to haul something around.
