I still listen to Metallica. My first cd was The Album Which Shall Not Be Mentioned(I actually enjoyed the Black album, but whatever...) I just am so disgusted with st anger and death magnetic. Its like they came up with cool riffs but never developed them into coherent songs, and never bothered writing meaningful lyrics. Give me "Justice" any day... O, and the Beach Boys are an amazing musical group, even beyond Surfin' USA and 409...

Dream Theater.. and yes this is because me and their drummer Mike have WAYYY too much in common.. LOL It's like we were twins separated a few years apart....
I don't have a favourite. I've spent a lot of time listening to Mono, though. Great stuff - that kind of calming-yet-violently-building music is what I've been l enjoying (pretty much, standalone) for the last year or so. I have a thread about this posted somewhere...

For me it's been Rush since the very first time I heard their music. Distinct and different with a drummer that, to this day, can still blow the doors of most if not all drummers.

I missed out on tickets last year to see Trent at Terminal 5 in NYC on his very last tour. Apparently they were only ~$100 and he played 'The Downward Spiral" in its entirety, from start to finish. Needless to say, I'm still rather upset.
<-- same here, man... I missed 3 of their shows - starting in '08 when they played here for Halloween night. I was sick as a dog, hacking; the weather had turned south that morning and I already felt like crap the whole week before. Then I missed Bonnaroo (had to work, saw that a friend of mine went and didn't even see any shows - just spent the whole time getting high ) then Chicago (couldn't make the drive up in time).
I'm still kicking myself over it. Or, them.

O God... One album, I'd pick Dark Side too... Different album, but I lost my Virginity to Shine on You Crazy Diamond... Hehe... But over all, still gotta say Beach Boys...
