Nick, when did this start working this way. You could try a system restore to a point you knew it worked. If nothing else maybe try reinstalling the drivers.

Thanks Jake!! XP..but I have fixed it from Doug's tip..downloaded driver from Acer site I thinkI may have messed it up by removing the card once, without stopping it first

Hmm, I'll have to try the driver thing for mine. It still reads cards and I can copy and paste files from the card, but it will not let me delete anything off the card. It keeps telling me it's write protected, yet the switch is in the unprotected setting. On my wifes computer, same kind as mine, I can delete files from it like normal.
