yeah great but with all the money he makes you'd think he'd buy the English version of the Rosetta stone series, or hell rent the guy that designed them!
And Gee how odd.. another team with a brand new stadium winning a series on the inaugural season, Cards are still in 2nd place though for most WS wins.. LOL!

Shrug, don't really care one way or another. As said earlier, payroll. It's been proven time and time again, if you buy the talent, you to can have a world championship ring/trophy.

I was not aware the Philadelphia players worked for free. Learned something new.
bunch of crybabies looking for excuses
Who suggested that?
I believe the payroll point is pretty applicable. The Yankees have had the highest payroll of all baseball teams since Steinbrenner took over and probably before that. They've also won the most World Series trophies. Same things happened in Pro Football, Pro Basketball and Pro Hockey and every other professional sport. That's pretty much the reason I quit watching the Pros. I like watching college but, even that is somewhat suspect.

Spending money is no guarantee. The Cubs regularly are one of the top spending teams in baseball. It’s been 101 years and counting since their last title. Don’t get me wrong, having tons of money to spend is a huge competitive advantage, but the organization still has to be run in such a way as to put that money to good use.
Congrats to the Yanks! I hate them, but they do have a good team and a well run organization.
Good, it's friggin over. Does this mean that if Family Guy, of Cleveland Show says it's on it's not going to be a bunch of P****es throwing a ball around for a few million a year each?
Perhaps they should go on strike again, the cost of living has gone up.
Man I hate baseball, and I really hate any station that feels I want to watch the crap. If I wanted to watch it I would pay for it on a special sports channel.
The Yankees have spent a lot, but the trend was "buy players that USED to be good, that are way past their prime, and then be surprised when they stink in pinstripes..." The whole 80's were like that, and some of the 90's. It was tough being a Yankees Fan during the dark years...
The farm system raised some great players, and I know I enjoy watching them with my family more then the actual team itself. The late 90's/early 2000's were great times. Not a fan of any team buying talent, especially if they seem like they just don't care when they come up to the plate...
And that sir, is why you are no Phillies fan. I love the team and am disappointed, but I'm still behind them. I just wish our bats had shown up. =[
Oh, but if the Phils had won, he would have shown up as the fan of the decade.
It could be worse---you could be like me--a hapless and diehard Astros fan. There was serious discussion about renaming their home field. Disappointment Stadium.

I grew up right outside Philly, lived in Philly, and love my Philly teams...and that in my opinion is the definition of a Phillies fan. Turn on their team and boo them at the drop of a hat. Philadelphia fans are brutal. It does suck they lost, but it was a good series, and the Phillies did win their division. Should have swung the bats a little more and more was expected from Howard. Now we can focus on the Eagles to screw up (spoken like a true Philly fan).

Yeah but Rick is a text book band wagon fan. At the first sight of loss he's out the door, not "always next year"-ing like the rest of us. Usually while shotgunning a couple beers and getting into fights on the way. And I grew up close to Philly, currently reside in DE... PA teams are the closest to home teams as it gets for me!
