I give up. How do you replace the headlights on a 96 S10 Blazer? I tried taking off the grille, can't do it. Tried removing the air intake assembly to go from the back, but the headlight is not accessible. Tried pulling up on these two weird stick things that I see in internet pictures of the headlight assembly, but they either don't move, or are rusted in place.

WTF? I REALLY hate this truck.

Those two sticks are plastic on my 99.
Just did mine for the first time since it was new.
Tough time getting them to move, but they do move.
Think I had to tap on them.
Have the GM repair info I can email you but I see no email button for you.

I finally figured it out. The 'sticks' if you pull off the rubber caps and look VERY closesly, have a 6-sided end on them at the top. It turns out they're really bolts that use a 5mm socket. Once you unscrew them and wrestle the whole headlight and adjuster assembly out, you have to unplug the harness from the bulb, in order to have enough room to turn the bulb, and pull it out, down, and away from the housing. What a crappy design, just like the rest of the truck.

Make sure you put them back in correctly. I can't tell you how many S10's I see where one or both healights (the molded lens type) are incorrectly replaced and are nearly or actually touching the hood. Sometimes when you close the hood it SLAMS the top of the headlight(s). There are some "fingers" on the bottom side (not visible while installing) of the headlamp that are supposed to go into some holes/slots. A lot of people just stick them back in and think they are installed correctly.
