What the hell do you do on Farm Town?

It is on Facebook. Now the only reason I have it is because my Aunt and Mom both play it waay to much, they asked me to help them and be their "neighbor".

They both seem obsessed with it. It even takes over 5 minutes of me and my Mom's 6 minute weekly phone calls. I am contantly bombarded with "help your neighbor clean up after a tornado" or "help plow this field". I ignore them.

But not today. I logged into the "game". Yes it's in quotes, I'm not really sure it is a game. I figure I would try to help my Aunt and Mom pick some corn or some **** . Kind of like a good deed. Right away I notice that there is a chat room on the bottom. I immediately start talking to Farm Town. To my suprise, my Aunt replies. I should have known she would be playing, after all it was still "awake time". She says my mom just left the farm.. Wow. I can imagine my Aunt at her house, running around to find a phone and call my Mom to tell her she just missed me on Farm Town..

I start trying to walk around

I start tying to walk around. WTF my guy is so slow. But he kind of trots around, right through fields and **** . I start clicking on different things, trying to see what they do. Nothing happens, they light up and say what they are.. YAY! Who the **** cares. Anyways right clicking doesn't work on anything either. I look around the screen at all the buttons. I find a water can and it looks like I am finally going to help so I can get the hell out of here. I hold it over a field and click. A screen pops up and says "Use watering can on flowers" or some BS.. WTF, I don't see any damn flowers.

So I walk over to some animals and stand by a horse. My aunt asks me if I am going to ride it in the chat room. I am excited as hell, finally I get to do something. After clicking on the horse for around 3 minutes and right clicking on it. Both of which do nothing but making it look like I humping the **** out of it.

My aunt says she was joking about riding the horse. I can imagine her laughing her ass off at me "actually thinking he could ride a horse," and thinking how stupid I am. I suddenly notice my hair is gray. Did it turn this way? Did it take 10 minutes on this damn farm to get old.

I think my aunt is making fun of my character for looking like a lady when she says "I see a gray lady in the field" I get defensive and tell her that I am not a lady. Apparently there was a lady and she pops in the chat room, did I offend her? My aunt has roped her friend from the camp ground into this Farming Fiasco.

WHAT IS THIS **** ? What do you do? I know these two probably spend like 4 hours a day on this.

Haven't played Farm Town but I have played Farm Ville. Basically you plant stuff, grow it, harvest it and repeat. As you do that you gain levels so you can plant different things. Farm Ville is more basic, no watering can or fertilizer or anything like that which works better for me because I work. I can't sit here all day, and I wouldn't anyways, tending the "farm".

My wife got me into it and I out leveled her, I'm like 5 levels higher then her. I know how to maxamize the use of my time and space to generate xp and coin.

My wife used to get wrapped up in this madness. Got her friends involved in it too.
I used to just watch in amazement.

I told her that what they all needed was a swarm of virtual locusts.

But then, the whole Facebook "experience" is just about lost on me anyway.

Farm Town ?
Never heard of it. I would suspect that you try to get the farmer's daughter. Without breaking the eggs.

Reading that reminds me of talking to my daughter on the phone when she's frustrated, she whines just like you!!!

You're so sweet and such a good son and nephew for wanting to "help" them out on the farm!!

Love ya kiddo!

This stuff is even more a waste of life than those toy gadgets that needed to be taken care of when they cried or got hungry.

I was into farm ville for a few weeks. I had would plant/harvest my entire lot over and over. Made lots of "money" and I always made more than my brother (which is what it's all about). Then I realized that the game was designed to take up as much of your time and money as possible so dropped it immediately. Still got wilted plants in my field and that's the way it's gonna stay.

Damn--what a waste.

Anyone ever done anything on any of this crap that you could actually eat or sell?

Is this stuff designed for adults???? or is it something mostly for children.

I think alot of adults have replaced tetris with this.
They also have a game with virtual pets you have to remember to feed.

I got bored with both Farm Town And Farn Ville, so I don't play them anymore. I still play Mafia Wars and Street Racer, but I might be giving up on them too, as they are becoming too repetitive and boring.

Cliff should make Feirotown. A virtual place to build and drive your fiero. You could pretend to go on runs.

I got tired of the 9-million Mafia Wars and Farmville requests real quick, I could never really get into any of those Facebook or Myspace games.

I haven't played farm town, but I do understand the attraction somewhat. I like to play EveOnline, instead of building farms you erect starbases and blow people up

Some people get incredibly addicted to these styles of games for some reason.

I think the popular ones were called Giga Pets. It was a virtual "pet" that you had to feed, clean up after, train, play with and such like a normal pet.

No, I never had one, and never wanted one. My neices and nephews on the other hand...

If anyone has an idea for a game like this (for casual gamers) that has decent re-playability, lemme know.
