We have a 1947 International KB-1 that we are finally getting back into. I've been looking at the rear end, and I'm not sure what we should do with it. We had to extend the sides of the bed, but now the sides stick out about 6" lower than the rear.

We've already noticed that the fenders need to be lowered flush with the side, but I'm not sure if it would look better just going straight down, or should I come down at an angle to the back of the fender?

Roll the pan, blend it into the fenders, and shorten the bumper. It's way too wide.

The bumper is the stock bumper. I'll try to take some more pictures today, but I have to clear some room in the garage first.

I would just restore it and create some minor "fixes".... but I like stock vehicles.

In MD they have to to be street legal Besides, it is better than when we started the project. Dad had the truck stock for about 20 years, and never once noticed that the rear fenders were two different sizes. You didn't notice it with the really thin wheels it had on there, but when we went to the fatter, modern wheels, we noticed that one fender was 3" deeper than the other.

Nice link you posted, but unfortunately the truck is pretty much all together, so nothing like that is gonna be done... this time We got everything together and running and put about 100 miles on it to make sure everything worked. Now we need to start working on the finer details. I think dad is more than content on settling for having a 4wd truck with an LT1. That is unique enough to satisfy him!

I would extend those vertical rails.
It would look better if the rear fenders were lowered about 2 inches.
make a trim piece to make the bottom of the bedside appear more like the cab bottom.

just some ideas.

I like it. Not alot of classic 4x4's out there!

I'm sure someone put a lot of time and effort into that, but the only thing that crosses my min when I look at the pictures is "what a waste of a perfectly good truck."
