Ok, here's the situation. I have a pipe extending up from my b-box (the valve that turns the water on and off at the street). I need to cut new threads on the pipe while it is in place ( I can't dig down all the way to the bottom to remove it and take it to a home center). I have a Rigid 12-R ( or R12) tool and only need the die to cut the threads.

If there is a plumber near me who wouldn't mind helping out, a retired plumber that will selll me the die or even rent it, or anyone who has anything else to thread 1 1/4 inch pipe I would sure appreciate it. The whole job will only take five minutes then I'll likely never thread 1 1/4 inch again so I'd hate to have to buy this thing new.

Thanks for thinking about this.

or maybe check local ace hardware, i know that they cut and thread pipe in there store, maybe they would loan you the die for a small deposit or somthing

atleast worth a shot at buddying up with an employee for a shot at it

I should have thought about renting it. I'll look into that. Still hoping for other options though as well.

Thanks
