im gutting my bathroom i got about 100 pounds of old galvanized pipe posted on craigs to get a scrap guy to come get it but no one wants it . got a scrap yard about 5 mins from the house but they are closed in the am before work and before i get the close

CAN galvanized PIPE BE SCRAPED

Cars are galvanized steel I don't know why not.

I would think so. Maybe it isn't worth the effort for someone to come get it. You could also talk to the junkyard about taking it. Call the scrap yard and tell them that you want to drop something off, but you can't get there during their hours. See what they will do. You may not get anything for the metal though.

I put a load of scrap metal (including galvanized stuff) on craigslist a while back and someone called within 5 minutes. Don't know why nobody has responded to the ad. Weird.

that is what i was thinking price is down . may just put in front of scrap yard dont want any cash just dont want to pay to have city take it

Put it out front with a "for sale" sign on it. It'll be gone the next morning or when you come from work that evening.

Yes, galvanized pipe can be salvaged/rescycled/scrapped. It's worth about $1/100 lbs

Depending on location. Here steel is about $.5/100lbs
