While in the store, I saw some Glossy Laser Photo Paper on sale, cheaper then the inkjet paper, and I could have swore that I read somewhere that you could get away with using laser paper in an inkjet.

well I printed a large 8x10 photo to try it out and it came out pretty dull looking. It would have looked better on plain (non-photo) paper.

I already had "premium photo paper" selected in the settings.

are there some adjustments I can make to the settings, or do I just have to take it back to the store?

Well I took it back to the store (I had only used 2 sheets) and saw that I wasn't the only one buying the wrong paper lol.

I paid $21 for 100 sheets, and got a free 100 pack. That was why I bought it because the price was so good.

The best pricing I found TODAY for Inkjet Glossy Photo Paper was $15 for 100 (with no free pack). but oh well......so I get that and go to the register.

At the register there are 25 pack for $3 (buy 1 get 1 free), but it was semi-gloss.

yup - the reason is how each type of printer gets its color onto the paper.
a laser uses static electricity, and an inkjet uses - well - jets of ink

this basicly creates opposite requirements for "glossy" paper
the laser glossy is gonna be more fabric based, for good static charge, while the inkjet is gonna be more "plastic" based to prevent bleeding.
