I just think he is so wrong/so over the top/ yet so funny. So I will admit I do love to listen his music/rap/whatever you want to call it.

I have been listening to the new cd Relapse.....just when you think he can't go further, he does.

I would like to stab him. But at the same time his music is mildly entertaining. I don't think I could purchase his CD though. Nothing personal.... okay maybe it is.

are you going off what is said about him? news? media etc?

I avoid all of that stuff, and just listen to the music. Heck sometimes I don't even know the real meanings of the words, it just sounds good.

Ok in the case of Eminem, the lyrics are quite clear. I guess I just look at it as entertainment........its not real

He just says whatever will get a rise out of people who take things way too seriously.

I like his old stuff, and his new CD isn't bad either... the bonus tracks are some of the better ones, along with "beautiful" and "underground"

Some of his stuff is okay. I can tolerate almost any song on his albums with a select few I just never care to asault my ears with again and some that I enjoy. My wife really likes him, so I have heard his music alot over the years. I guess compaired to some of the rap I used to listen to in my teens/twenties it for the most part isn't that bad. Luke Skywalker and the 2 Live Crew comes to mind easily with the B side of Too Shorts, Life is... Too Short album ranking up there also. I thought the movie 8 Mile was halfway decent though I enjoyed the end of it the most. I wouldn't say I'm a big fan but then I don't detest his music either.

Now Tupac...

So your probably around the same age as me? I am 37 right now. I remember enjoying 2 live crew, and too short. Funny thing was I use to cruise around playing Too Short, and really got a lot of looks. Maybe because I am white, maybe because I am in NJ. I dont know, but I liked it. I was really excited to see 8 mile, and then just felt let down. I guess I expected much more then it was. Thats part of the reason i now avoid the trailers/previews.

Tupac? Yeah I really enjoyed alot of his songs. I saw briefly that there were deeper meanings etc.....and thats fine. but me.....I am simple, and I enjoyed it.

I wouldn't say about... I am 37 will turn 38 this September. I'm white to but when I first started getting into music I gravitated towards Rap and Pop. Micheal Jacksons Thriller lead to Chaka Khan to Run DMC and the Beastie Boys. By then I listened to more rap then anything else. I still enjoy alot of rap but most of what's being made today just doesn't compare.

I liked him better before he had this "gangster" image. His older playful songs were hilarious. He lost me after "The Marshal Mathers LP". Look up the old song "The Kids" ... greatness.

I'm a Slim Shady....................

And every single person is a Slim Shady lurkin
He could be workin at Burger King, spittin on your onion rings
Or in the parkin lot, circling
Screaming "I don't give a fugg!"
with his windows down and his system up

So, will the real Shady please stand up?
And put one of those fingers on each hand up?
And be proud to be outta your mind and outta control
and one more time, loud as you can, how does it go?

Eminem is one of my favorite rappers, like him or not, the guy is a Genius!!
this CD is in my car now
it is differant than his other stuff, over the top on alot of things, this one seems to be more drug related
this is one of his darker more in depth CD's

some of the things he comes up with is just,.... WOW. if it helps, look up the few videos he has out for this CD

dont be one of thoes people that say you dont like him or are judging him based off of what you hear on the radio

i think they need to drop 50Cent, ive never liked him Dre and Eminem are a very dominating appart and together

i used to be into rap alot like 10-15 years ago, and now eminem is prettymuch the only "new" rap i really listen to anymore

Yah, thats probably the reason I dont usually listen to the bootlegs. but that track 11 is good. shortly after that I actually turned it off and went back to the retail release of Relapse....loving it all over again, its just so wrong.

I used to be a huge fan. His first album, Infinite, is pure wit. "You couldn't make your fans throw up their hands if they swallowed their fingers." His underground stuff was great too. Tylenol Island is one of my favorites.

I've tried to listen to him and it's almost always about his mom doing drugs, him doing drugs, him wanting to kill his ex-wife/gf or him having sex with his step father.

That was quite enough 'genius' for me.
