What do you think happens after you die? Heaven & hell? Reincarnation? Wormfood? I can think of a bunch of different beliefs, but I'm not sure which one I think happens.
Some that are not Religious say that everyone of us is a ball of energy. Both good & bad. When we die, that energy is returned to the universal bank. Then when needed, it is put back into new life. How the Universe will end is when all the energy that is returned is bad, with no good energy left in the bank. Then the lights will be turned out for good.
What do you think is on "The Other Side"?

I believe there is some form of timeless entity. Something our scientific upbringing and need for absolute fact before function minds cannot even fathom right now. I think there is a life after death.

Interesting topic to bring up. I do have a strong belief in where we came from, why we are here, and where we are going. But I will try and be as brief as possible. I believe we started as spirits before coming to this life, and as part of the plan that God has for us we came to Earth to gain a body. I believe God has a body like us, but is a perfect resurrected body. So we are born into the life, which means our spirit joins our physical body. We live this life, but we all die. When we die our spirits leave the body and go to a place called the Spirit World. This place is split into 2 areas which somepeople call heaven and hell. To me it is a place that is split between good and evil. Purpose being that the good can then teach the bad about knowledge needed to get into Heaven. Kind of confusing. But think of it as a second chance, but you still have the same appetites, desire, etc as you would in your earthly life. At some point everyone will be resurrected, which means your body and spirit will be reunited. But in a perfect form. Meaning no hair loss, perfect eyes, all limbs (if lost in accident or born that way), etc... you get the point. Then you will be judged accordingly after that point and given your reward. This is all very vague and can be explained with a lot more meaning and understanding. Just didn't want to get into religious points and such. Just explaining my belief. Interested to see what other people believe.
I believe we just stop. End of line. Wormfood. The big sleep. The last Goodnight.
Admittedly, there are times it gets a little depressing not beliving in an afterlife (and enormously frustrating when you see a body of person you care about just start to break down...)
My motto is Enjoy life while yer alive, and be a 'good person'. Death will come, and then whatever happens, happens. Not gonna worry about it more then I need to. There's an innate order to things, and our eventual, inevitable passing is a part of it. Go with the flow of things...and don't actively try to be a sh*thead.

I believe there is more to us than what we are. What does it look like, I dont know I dont think you will see it so much as feel it. Ever have the best nights sleep of your life?
It wouldn't be to difficult for you to find out, but your going to have to sacrifice something. an Elephant/Dog/Cat/Ant/ .......something.
Kill it, and watch to see if anything goes anywhere, maybe do some scientific tests of some sort, to see if there is anything leaving that you may not be able to see/smell/hear/energy/soul etc.....
Not that I can recall, I had some best nights that led up to a great night of sleep though.
Lately all my dreams (even though I can't really remember them) seem to be me living in another life. Nothing special, not bad or good etc.....just another. Strangely enough though when I start to wake from one of these dreams, I want to immediately go right back to it. I never find myself wanting to go right back to this life though.
So that makes me think there is some other side/parallel life something. But while I may not be very smart, I am smart enough to know that all of it is just something I don't understand.

Of COURSE they don't! Only us humans do! That's why we're so special...
Man, what I wouldn't give to have a bunch of aliens come and put us in our place...sit us down and pat our liitle heads, and clarify things a bit...wait a sec... That might not be so good afterall...

I'm kinda thinking a huge mansion with the horses and paddocks out back, pool on the left side, garage with a couple dozen Lotus/Lambo/Ferrari/Bentley on the left, Autobahn-type road on the other end of a 5-mile private drive, with BBQ, hot tubs and a whole lot of hot horny 20-somethings all over the place.......

Oh, never mind. That's my goals for THIS side.
now that was funny. Just becareful not to let the hot horny 20 somethings near the stables.

I think that nothing that you think you are or want is real. I believe when you die your true self is exposed to the universe and whatever there is you still have your own will but it isn't anything you could imagine now in your present existence.

I believe that there is more to it than just "here". All of that intellect, consciousness, energy, etc., that makes us what/who we are had to have come from somewhere. And has to go somewhere, too. I just can't fathom that it all happened by chance.
I was raised Catholic, and still hold those basic beliefs (although tempered by my own experiences and beliefs) but I think that the view that we are raised with (or at least that I was raised with) is waaay too simplistic.
I have read/heard that there is a significant weight loss that occurs at the moment after physical death. A weight loss that cannot be explained simply by the final breath leaving the body. This supports the theory that the soul actually has mass.
Aside from all that, I would like to think that if there is an afterlife, our animals will be able to join us there, along with "our people". For some people, their animals are "their people".

I'm pretty sure that 'you lose weight when you die(it's yer soul!)' Thing has been debunked.
I wish there was some TANGIBLE unexplained 'thing'out there...
Huge questions like 'how was the universe created', and tiny ones related to quantum theory are sorta beyond our understanding (for now, anyway ) but they are also hard to hold in your hand... They are at a different scale. I'd love to wake up and turn on the news and discover that a big spinning 'thingie' appeared in a field somewhere, and purple blobs keep flying out of it every 17 minutes... And no one can figure it out...
But instead, we have the hum-drum normality of life...no purple blob producing thingies...
Oh well...
I do dig rituals, catholic buddhist and hindu mostly. I feel 'recharged' after 'em...

Where have you been living? every 17mins would be way to slow for us now a days. While people might not figure it out, they would figure out how to make it happen faster.

Its now known as EVP (google it), but NOTHING on the net compares to his results, which is probably because nobody has time to research and build circuits anymore. The human species thinks knowledge comes from 10 minutes of buying somebody else's gadget and learning to use it. <small rant off>

Can't speak for the other methods of "detection", but...
"Diode voices: one records from what is essentially a crystal set not tuned to a station."
You can hook a simple diode to a piece of wire, and connect the other end of the wire to a pair of headphones. You'll pick up any AM radio signal that's strong enough.

all I can say is read the book.........its 391 pages, of which about 60% are transcripts of recorded sessions. the AM issue is considered in the methodology section. It comes with a 45rpm (probably a CD now) of the sessions.
What is mind blowing, is the specific answers to specific questions, by name of person.
(yes, there is a possibility it is a 1971 fraud, but given technology and expense at that time--in Latvia--highly unlikely.)

I did something like that once when I was young, (sorta accidentally) and it scared the crap out of me...

I'd like to hear more about this belief.
How does the universe determine when the energy balls are needed? That would imply a conscious control of some kind. Why would the universe end when all the returned energy is bad? At that point every living being would be full of good energy, right? Wouldn't that be the greatest height the universe could attain?

Wow, that makes me think of FFVII. I'm going to have to break it out and play it again. Maybe pop Final Fantasy Advent Children into the DVD... Or Final Fantasy The Spirits Within .

How do we know this is not the other side? Perhaps this life is nothing other than a dream playing in our subconcious mind in another dementia. Yes, I said dementia. We may be insane there, sane here, but what is sanity other than our belief of what it is........... or isn't.
This is a test, only a test. For the next 60 seconds we will be testing the Emergency Reality Broadcast System..... Remember, this is only a test.
We are going to be floating on clouds playing harps. lol
I have my own set of beliefs like others here. I do believe in life after this life and feel we will go on and grow spiritually. I believe there is an equivilant of everything here in the physical but I am not talking exotic cars and man made material objects and the like. We will still go on with the same feelings, wants and desires. It will be a learning process such as this life is and I believe this life is just a stepping stone to greater wisdom, knowledge and understanding. We will always continue to be in a learning process and feel we can continue to progress to higher levels of heaven.
Just like in this world there are many different levels of people here. We have people here who are caring and loving and will do anything to help there nieghbor and fellow man. On the other hand we have people who will take what ever they can get from anybody with no regard for the other persons feeling or possesions whatsoever. And there are many different levels of people in this physical realm. No one is perfect here but there are some that are more perfect than others because they have a higher understanding and are blessed with wisdom and knowledge. They understand that treasures are built in heaven by the good deeds they do here on earth. Believe or not, this earthly physical realm is a testing grounds and will determine the level you will be on in the next life.
I feel that once we leave this earth, we will go be with like minded individuals. You might be on higher levels or you could be on lower levels. Those on the higher levels are actually able to come down to the lower levels to teach and help those on the lower levels. It will be almost like those on the lower levels, when they try to accend to higher levels it will be too uncomfortable because the light will be to bright for them because they have not attained those levels spiritually yet and feel happy and content on the lower levels they are currently at in Heaven.
All good people will go to heaven and alot will be on the lowest levels of heaven, but they will still be in heaven with a chance to advance if they so choose. You are actually closer to God on the higher realms which is called the Celestrial realms. The next lower realm is called the spiritual realm and this realm is actually a very high realm and if you get there right after death, then you must have been one heck of a good person on earth. The realm below the spiritual realm is called the physical realm and this is where those go that still have the desires of the flesh and are not quite ready for a higher realm and higher understanding.
Now concerning Hell, it works sort of like heaven with the different levels and all. There is light in heaven, those in Hell can't stand light at all. They are comfortable in darkness and the worst they are, the deeper the darkness is. Everyone down there is terrible to each other. They lie, cheat steal and are back stabbers. They have no desire to move up into heaven and they lack any knowlege of heaven. You would have had to be a very bad person to go to hell. Believe it or not, those in hell are where they want and chose to be. Not sure if those in heaven are actually able to go down into hell to try and persuade those to come up into heaven.
Not sure where I stand but I know I do not want to step foot in Hell.
These are only my own thoughts on the subject but it makes sense to me.

I hope you are right. That sounds like a great next step in our journey. I lack faith right now though, I am a bit of the mindset we become wormfood. But its hard to think of the people you care so much about just being gone forever. I would also like to think the beautiful, loving, kitten I have on my lap right now will be able to continue on after her life here is over.
