ok, so some of you probably know, I am in Transportation design at the University of Cincinnati. I have just started building my second clay model, and this time I am recording all the action. Maybe this will get moved to the build threads, maybe not.
This project is sponsored by Cadillac, so the vehicle I am doing is a Cadillac. I will not spill everything yet, as far as design, but here is a bit of a hint of where it was a few weeks ago. This should give you a good idea of where it is going.
A lil later tonight Ill post a vid with my progress I did last night, and then probably another one chronicling what I did tonight.
I can see it!! I love the flowing lines, the concept, everything...except...how the heck can you steer with that 'bumper' thing across the front wheels? Or does it move with the wheel? Nit-picking a bit...but it looks really great!! I can see E-type Jaguar in it (my favourite car ), and lots of other 'influences'. GREAT design work..I think you could save GM all by yourself, given half the chance Nick Edit to add...I presume it is front engine/rwd?

im actually relatively happy with the fenders, the parts I have been working on the most are the taillights, backlight, and overall shape of the greenhouse.
The way the fenders transition into the front and rear end have changed some though.

Initially the concept took advantage of omnidirectional tires, the idea was the vehicle would be driven via electric hub motors and a Magnetic propulsion system. Ill get a pic of the wheel rendering I did to show.
The chassis was initially going to be a carbon weave with the body being applied on top of it, essentially recreating the skateboard concept for my vehicle/concept. We will see where the carbon fibre goes.

The belt line needs more definition between the fenders. Drop the rear upper line to the bottom of the taillight. Round the rear window more in all the corners.
