Like the title says, I wish someone would give this speech to Obama...
(and before someone goes ahead and accuses me of it anyway, yes, I first heard this speech on <gasp> the Rush Limbaugh show) ------------------ "The flag should be displayed with the union down, as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property."
Read my Earthship thread in Totally O/T si vis pacem, para bellum
"The said constitution shall never be construed to authorize Congress to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms." - Samuel Adams
What part of "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" is so hard to understand?!

May I remind you, to have an intelligent conversation or just a conversation, it takes two parties, one to speak and one to listen. It would not do any good to do as you suggest unless the President was willing to listen and consider. President Obama is convinced he can spend us out of this worldwide economic downturn/recession. His actions and words show that. Why waste yer breath?
I sincerely believe our only hope is that we can survive as a country to the end of his term. Although, I'm not sure our grand-children can afford that luxury.

I agree. I truly don't believe my America will exist much longer. My wife just left Russia a few years ago, and it makes us sad to see this wonderful country heading down the very same road that they crashed and burned on not too long ago. You would think we'd have learned from other failed communist/socialist regimes but I guess not as long as we have such short attention spa... HEY! American Idol's on!!!

Is Obama going on that show, too??
VERY sad thing. People that have grown in up in other countries and now live in the U.S. are just pulling their hair out in unbelief as we do the very same things that ruined the countries that they fled.

Oh, no, you don't understand. The Democrats are going to do the same thing that failed before, but THIS time it will come out differently! This time, we have hope and change!
You know that in 2010 there will be a 1/3 of the Senate (36 to be exact) and all the House of Reps up for election. Instead of pulling your hair out pull the voting lever and lets get our country back on track by making good informed decisions about who should be representing our nation. Stop the madness!

If people that would actually do some good for the country would run, we might actually get somewhere.

I'm tired of having to choose between a douche and a turd sandwich (to borrow from South Park) at every election. I want a human being, not just an empty suit with (R) or (D) painted on it...

Why would they? Politics is no longer a career option for a gentleman. It is the anus of the world thanks to a media determined to make life a hell for anyone they disagree with.

I just wish there was SOMEONE, from either side of our government, who had the stones to cut through the BS the way Rush does. None have the courage to say what he says and to be as right as he is.
There is NO OTHER REASON why the left would work so hard to generate hatred for him. They know the truth, and that the truth will set you free.

John McCain was as close as I've seen in a long time to a politician willing to do that. He's just not charismatic enough to win an election.

But guess what, when/if she ever wins an election for President... there will be people, just like the people in this thread, talking and saying terrible things about her just as people are doing to Obama, just as people did to Bush, just as people did to Clinton... Like I said in another thread, people hate the president, no matter who he is.

True. But just because a few people hate the president for no reason, doesn't mean that others cannot have legitimate reasons to dislike him...

And that only started when He took over the White House?
Maybe. It is possible Obama had this planned before he was elected. Given that he is a marxist the government take over of private business is at the core of his teachings.

So he, in all his greatness, influenced govement long before he was elected to start taking over private business?

What exact private business did the government seize? Last I checked they only took over bailed out companies. That isn't the same as what Obama and Tax Cheat Tim. have in line where they actually go in and seize companies that didn't take bail out money.

I'll go on with our previous line in a second, just wanted a quick clarification... whats the difference between a public and private company? What would Fannie May and Freddie Mac be considered?(well, before the government took control over them)

And do you really need a definition for private and public companies? Fanny and Freddy were hybrid and mostly government entities that's why they had to have Congressional meetings in front of Barney Frank where he and his lover lied on record.

AIG was a private company until the government bought ( not seized ) a large portion of it with tax payer money. Now it is nationalized. But Obama and Tax Cheat Tim want the power to seize ( not buy ) companies that might be to " to big to fail" in any industry. And that is unconstitutional. But its not stopping them from actively tying.
So are you going to answer me what exact companies were seized or do you want to keep playing games to avoid it?

You appear to be trying to draw me into an argument that I no longer have any desire to pursue.
I'll tell you what. My opinion of the declining state of my country has not changed since the day I joined this forum -
(uh, I say son, that would be, I say that would be, while GWB was president...)
Do an T/OT archive search for "Is America becoming a fascist nation", go to the seocnd page, and read my arguments.
