The only time an 8 yr old should be listening to Britney is here.
I know when I was a teen I was barely allowed to listen to what I wanted.
But now you made me think of a interesting idea. Ratings (like in movies/tv) applied to music to better help the parents control what their kids listen to.

I was the opposite. I listened to a lot of Prince. My mom would burst into my room yelling, "Do you know what he's singing?!"
Maybe because of this, I believe that parents should be intimately involved in what their kids are listening to, watching and playing - and steering them to/away from those things that are appropriate. We have gone too far into the nanny state.

And most of the newer music I hear playing says far more repulsive stuff than F..... me. I just heard a car blaring loud crap this weekend parked in the car wash. It was a guy and his gf/wife and 3 little kids. Music was so loud, I called police. For 10 mins every other word was a cuss word and F bomb was the nicest of them. Britneys stuff is like gospel comparitively.

that stuff is uncalled for arround small children, expecially at an extreme leval
i spell out the f-bomb,(which is nothing that you dont do in your own head while reading the words to the song) and people think that 4 -6 year olds hang out here reading the forum, and get all but hurt about it
funny how people get all bent out of shape about a word, but its totally acceptable in other threads to post nudity (see thru clothes), and log in's with passwords where you can view to much for a "family forym"

This stuff is uncalled for, period. Why we have sunk to the level of embracing the crude, profane, and obscene as " adult "? Adult means capable of accepting responsibility and setting limits on one's behavior, not embracing the sort of idiocy and stupidity we thought was acceptable or hilarious when, we men especially, were 14-16. Why is adult language obscenity? Adult language should be the language of discourse whereby we treat the others around us with respect as human beings. Responding to basest elements of our natures by catering to those elements won't improve any society.
