I am trying to pot some HID ballasts. I am wondering if I can use something I can get locally. I dont want to spend 40 bucks to get a 450 mL kit when I am only going to need like 70 mL. Can I use a different kind of 2 part epoxy or should I get potting epoxy?? Any other ideas to make them waterproof?? They dont get super hot but they do get hot to the touch after they are on for around an hour or so. I am doing a Acura TL Bixenon retrofit into my focus. Any ideas??

I have no idea if that would work. I was thinking along the lines of JB weld or something like that.

I would be concerned about a heat issue if they do get warm - maybe mount a heat sink so that it will still be exposed before encasing it.
