This morning as I was taking my wife to work we were behind a car that we had seen once before on this same road and could not identify. Well we finally found out this morning when it was in front of us. Can you identify this car?
They are hard to keep up IF you don't drive them. The Esprit enjoyed MANY changes in 88-89. You can get a nice 88 for mid-teens to low 20s. One should avoid the pre-se cars if you plan to keep it for a while or drive it a lot. They did come with inboard rear brakes but that also meant it had a transmission that it is almost impossible to find parts for (regardless of price). The 89 -92 Esprit SE is a very well priced, strong running car PLUS it has the better transmission, many Toyota brake components and GM fuel injection which eliminated the MNAY issues the previous British system had. I'm pretty sure no 93 cars were imported into the U.S. from Lotus and after that the cars continued to improve (like the c4 Corvette) but they get exponentially more expensive.
Can you tell I have had a few Esprits and LOVED them????
