He didn't just see "black man". There were many other clues that made it seem like it would be Obama.
The timing of this leads people to go to what is on most people's minds. Obama. Not OJ. So of course the mind would run to Obama first. Many of us skim the posts for the sake of time, trying to get the general jist and not trying to pour over every detail with a fine tooth comb.
So you can say, "You fail."
Just as valid to say, "Gotcha. I INTENDED to try to mislead you unless you paid a lot of careful attention, and it succeeded."
I took the whole thing as kind of fun, originally. Kind of laughed at myself. Ha. Fell for it. If things are going to get testy here, then not so fun anymore. |

You really didn't have to pay very close attention at all - you just had to read the entire post.
But yes, when it was first sent to me, I was thinking it was talking about Obama while reading it, too; however, once I finished reading it, I noticed it was about O.J., not Obama.
It was posted as a laugh at first, but people's reactions have been interesting. It does look like many people read just enough to get what they think is the basic subject and then immediately start writing their replies. People do this in conversation, too. They're more interested in what they're going to say next than they are in listening to what's being said to them in the first place.
