No big deal. You were trying to be funny, and you kind of were.
I will admit you seemed to be talking about both people, as you intended it to appear. Nevertheless, OJ's story is old news and boring so I gave my input to the other side of it. I guess I won't get any replies about my thought on that though. It would have been more interesting.

As far as perception coloring ones reading. If you didn't percieve it, you saw nothing am I right?

That's a good one... What clued me in was the lack of naming "the house" that he was moving into... I read it thrice and got it... good one.

There have been plenty of threads on Obama for you to post your opinion on him.

The first post in this thread was about O.J., not about O.J. and Obama... just O.J.

Following your lead, perhaps I should ramble on about Chinook Salmon. I could try and make it interesting.

He didn't just see "black man". There were many other clues that made it seem like it would be Obama.

The timing of this leads people to go to what is on most people's minds. Obama. Not OJ. So of course the mind would run to Obama first.
Many of us skim the posts for the sake of time, trying to get the general jist and not trying to pour over every detail with a fine tooth comb.

So you can say, "You fail."

Just as valid to say, "Gotcha. I INTENDED to try to mislead you unless you paid a lot of careful attention, and it succeeded."

I took the whole thing as kind of fun, originally. Kind of laughed at myself. Ha. Fell for it. If things are going to get testy here, then not so fun anymore.

You really didn't have to pay very close attention at all - you just had to read the entire post.
But yes, when it was first sent to me, I was thinking it was talking about Obama while reading it, too; however, once I finished reading it, I noticed it was about O.J., not Obama.

It was posted as a laugh at first, but people's reactions have been interesting. It does look like many people read just enough to get what they think is the basic subject and then immediately start writing their replies. People do this in conversation, too. They're more interested in what they're going to say next than they are in listening to what's being said to them in the first place.

Please. I was actually interested in other peoples thoughts on what I wrote. As you said your post was in jest.

I read that it was about OJ and honestly I thought you were inferring similarities between the two. I guess my first post was misunderstanding you, but not in the way that you think. Your evaluation of people for their replies is not accurate if you are referring to me as on eof the many people.

Laying a trap and poking fun is not a very nice thing to do. IMO
