Why does latino music rely so heavily on the accordion? It makes every song sound the same. Also why does every song seem to have the same beat. Dun-da, dun-da, polka, polka...

I hear it alot, the neighbors down the street don't seem to realize there are other houses with other people around them. Either that or they are pretty proud of it. Even the BOOM BOOM ricer kids don't crank it that much or as often.

I think Hispanic music sounds annoying. But hey they probably think American music sounds annoying. I think Hispanic people just
like it loud. Sometimes I will crank up some Nine Inch Nails or Metallica but I live in the country so my musical tastes should not be
keeping anyone from their sleep When I say country I mean out in the sticks with no neighbors. Just in case anyone thought I meant
America

I don't hear any accordions.

It's called a reggaeton, by the way, and is one of the latest types of Latin music.

The big guitar, violins, and accordion music is considered typical music.

i sometimes listen to latin music in my truck at work, because it's generally upbeat and i dont need to think about the lyrics.
ive asked the same question (about the accordion). it doesnt seem to feature largely in spanish music (fetish, any opinion?), so i suspect it's a central american thing, and one person suggested that the accordion was brought over by sailors because it's so portable.

The accordian was introduced to Central America by German settlers.

I don't mind listening to music like Banda (which is what is popular with Northern Mexicans, and features heavy accordians.) as long as I am eating Mexican food. I don't listen to it in my car or home, though.

Dave Chappelle did a funny skit regarding the differences in White. Black, and Spanish style music, but no according was used in Latino (Cuban) like music. It involved drums, guitar, electric piano, and a mega phone.
