There is research suggesting that if you are a male with a longer index finger or a female with a longer ring finger you are more likely to be gay/lesbian. There are apparently all kinds of possible outcomes depending on your digit ratio, you could be more likely to get testicular cancer, etc... Weird stuff.

I saw a report not too long ago about finger length. It had to do with athletic ability and the difference in length of the ring and index fingers.

In almost all men, the ring finger is longer than the index finger. The greater the difference in length, generally the more athletic the man.

In almost all women, the index finger is longer than the ring finger. I don't recall if there were any qualities that it would signify.

Me, my index fingers are shorter than my ringer fingers. And I'm not a woman.

My index and ring fingers are the same length. Guess it must be true. I always wondered about my sexuality. Now I'm sure. Proven by science.

does this take knuckle alignment into account? because it looks like the index finger also starts lower - or is that why this happens?
