I'm trying to find some information on the types of carbon fibre weaves that exist and how the weave affects the strength/weight etc of a carbon fibre object. Also, I realize the resin also would play a role in the properties of a carbon fibre object.

Does anybody know of a website that outlines the properties of weaves and resins?

Im thinkin info like that would be kept in the industry, not really something you want competitors to know since its not really common knowlege?

I think it would be available publicly. People who purchase carbon cloth etc for personal projects or business use should be able to access this info somewhere to find the properties that best suit their need...

well in the far bigger and older fiberglass area
most of that kind of data is well know

and as carbon is just a stronger fiber then glass most of that data should transfer

thin lite low stress bits like a door skin they use cloth with thin fibers

thick heavy stressed bits like a race car tub uses a heavy roving

uni-directional fibers are used in bits like an A-arm on a F-1 car
where most of the stress is in one direction

cores of foam are common on large flat surface bits

the other main trick is cores

------------------
Question wonder and be wierd
are you kind?
