What's the big deal? The plot will be that somebody is terminally ill, House will misdiagnose the patient at least once almost killing him/her, pop some pills, see something and have a divine intuition, and save the patients life. My wife loves the show, but I always spoil it for her with the above plot line. However, one time the patient did die. Actually, thanks to House, I don't have to shave on week-ends.

House, Burn Notice, Bones, Magnum PI, Rockford Files, CSI. TV script writing 101: Good looking people, fast cars, big guns, loud music. Maybe a quirky lead or supporting charachter. Be sure to include some type of sexual tension, and you've got a hit. (confession: I really love this stuff.)

The episode last night was very good. I just couldn't believe when Wilson turned to house near the end and Said that he didn't think they had ever really been friends. Can't wait to see how house handles that one.

The meat of each show is very predictable. It is the interaction between the characters and the personal drama that makes it interresting. Hospital based shows are so one dimensional. Any time you want to build drama in the story you just make someone nearly die or kill someone.
House is interresting because he is an antihero. He does everything wrong but most of the time still saves the day in the end. This plays to the inner yearning of most of the views that fantasize about breaking out of their daily routine.
I like the writing for the show since it is a little more realistic than other shows. When the cop was after House, that storyline was very well written and seemed very true to real life.

My friend hates the show too. Funny thing is, when the show first came out, I thought House reminded me of... my friend!! He thinks most people are idiots too.
I love the "out of place" and usually "in poor taste" remarks and sarcasm House makes in the show. His quips to Cuddy (usually about her attire) are hilarious! In real life, a guy talking like that would be up on sexual harrasment charges.

I love the pure arrogance, sarcasim, egotism, dry humor, of House. I could care less about curing of the patient or anything else regarding the plot--as long as the sarcasim and arrogance continues.
