Mastretta MXT

Its production will begin in January 2009 at Mastretta's first car factory with an annual production of 150 units. Around 70% (105 cars) will be exported to Europe and the United States, and 45 will remain for national sales.

The serial-production MXT will be powered by a Cosworth-tuned[5] 2.0 liter inline-4 with 200 hp (150 kW), supercharger and aftercooling allowing it to reach over 230 km/h (143 mph) on top speed.[6]

US $55,000

Saw an article in the new Motor Trend about VW making another midengined showcar for the 2009 season. Speculation goes that it could be the base for a new mid engined Audi TT replacement and a new Porsche 356. Would make this pretty irrelevant if they decided to build.

If it's like any other automotive products I have gotten from mexico, the car will end up killing you within 6 months.

Crappiest parts ever.

Uh, the vast majority of parts on your GM / Ford / Dodge vehicle have been made in either Mexico and Canada - something to bare in mind

I had an Olds Achieva a few years ago with a cr*p load of Mexican parts. After that experience I try very hard not to buy Mexican, except my two Mayan hammocks.

Did yours have the annoying "No Start + Security light" issue?

Wow, my Volvo weighs in at around 4200 pounds and will go a heck of a lot faster than that car!! At a much lower investment!. Mind you, it will not turn quite so many heads... She is a sleeper I would expect that car to go a lot faster that 143.

The side/rear look similar to the Lizardo Fiero kit... Modified Crossfire rear?
