Curious if anyone has ever had an infection in their tear ducts, and then had to have the scar tissue removed surgically a few weeks later?

I get to do this first thing in the morning and not 100% what to expect other then the obvious shot in the eye (!) to get it numb and them cutting it out... :

I have heard of tear ducts getting blocked. Seems like the solution was running a wire through the duct to clear it.

I'm sure it will be... unusual.

I wish you the best.

had this happen about a yr and a half ago and its still there. So far no problems just a lil bit bigger eyelid.

they said I had to have the same procedure done and I said I'm broke, I'll live with it. Mine happened cause I would wear my contacts for months on end. Lemme know how it goes!

Just put that little plastic red tube on the brake cleaner can tip (make sure its a full can for max pressure)
jam the red tube into the corner of your eye, and spray

Yup, had to have it done a while back. Wasn't very fun, eye and surrounding area itched more than anything for several months afterwards and had a few spouts of walleye vision My infection came after my eyelid was CUT OFF, that's right, cut off. Took 11 stitches to put it back on, kinda interesting not being able to blink for a few hours. BTW, I still love to play hockey, just keep your stick on the ice.

Got it done about an hour ago.

The shot in the eyelid sucked, but wasn't the worst pain ive ever had and it didn't last long. ( so far a kidney stone is the winner for pain level ). No patch, no vision issues. I could even go up to work if i wanted.

Its a bit sore now but tolerable, and less pain then i had when it was swollen shut last month. Its sort of like a mild black eye soreness.

I think this is whats going on with me right now. I've been putting eye drops in and it helps but keeps getting irritated. Should I go to the doctor and get it looked at?

It wouldn't be a bad idea. With what i had, drops wouldn't have made a difference since its in the duct and drops wouldn't flow up-hill, so to speak.

I guess in this case it wasn't a tear duct as the original doctor said, but a oil duct. There are like 40 of them across the eyelid.
