ok working on my friend's rear engine john deere

put new solinoid on and runs, once shut off no restart?

tried another solinoid i had and same thing.

all wires are correct as they are not long enough to put in wrong place

solinoid clicked when i hooked it up to the bat. orginall after shut down will not click.

does this mean it is stuck open? both of them have done this. could it be a battery issue with dead cell?

kinda lost on this so please all give a helping hand.

thanks i ruled it out, as the ground seeing as how it did start and run. i will go back and clean up behind the solinoid and see if that helps. this thing is frustrating.

I wonder if its the wrong solenoid, maybe burning up the contacts after the first start. I know its a stretch but its the first thing that popped in my mind.

EDIT: Maybe a bad ground thru the starter
