I'm thinking about renting a car to go to NY/NJ and maybe farther north around thanks giving time. I look at the rental places and they all very wildly in price but Hertz was the cheapest. Then I went to Hotwire after the TV said they do car rentals too. The prices were 1/3 that of going to Hertz directly. I may even up grade and still get it cheaper!

But have any of yous guys used hotwire? Good? Bad? Can I add my AAA card discount on top of the already ridiculously low prices?

I have a buddy that rents cars for $6 a day. He goes to Priceline and bids like $5 or $6 and usually gets one.

No but I got a kick out the commercial that says "save on car rental too" (hotwire dot com). Yeah you can save a lot with a little "hot-wiring"!
